If we didn't have bad luck we would have no luck at all.
This past six months it has been one thing after another within the family and it's all starting to catch up on me. Why? Well I now have shingles..........
Luckily this is not the first time I have had shingles, so I sort of know what's what with it. The last time I had shingles was the beginning of April, 1984. Right before I gave birth to our son. Caused quite a kerfuffle, as it's not something they saw in the birthing unit every day. Add into the fact it was right around my body where my bra strap would have been and they weren't even sure if I could breast feed our son or not.
It's in the same place as last time, and so far like last time, it's not painful but awfully itchy. So on Friday I had to drive down to our doctors office to have someone look at it so I could get some antibiotics.
The cause of this is probably stress. I am still coughing and bringing up phlegm. Oh well onwards and upwards as they say (((SIGH)))

Stress, yes, and also you have been thro8gh so much you're probably very run down too. Sending love. xx
A lot of people are getting shingles lately!? I've heard of more people with them in the past 4-5 months than I ever have. I am just getting over them as well. I broke out around Valentines Day - didn't know what it was, figured it out and been waiting patiently since then for it to clear up. They say 3-5 weeks and sure enough, mine is right at 5 weeks and it's finally faded to almost gone and hasn't burned, hurt or itched for almost 2 weeks. The original spot of breakout on my back hasn't had a rash since the start, but that's what burned and itched the most. The rash around the sides/b00b area looked the worst but wasn't as bad as the lackluster looking back. Ha. Over the past few days I forgot about them until I read your post so that's a good sign! LOL. (This was my first go round, and hope I never have another break out. LOL.)
Not a good thing, but as you say, you've had it before. I had it when I was in the seventh grade.
Have you had the shingles shot?? It's supposed to help and our dr. insisted that Resident Chef and I get it. I hope your case isn't a bad one and goes away quickly.
That's rotten luck for you to shingles while you are still recovering from the dreaded lurgy. Hope the shingles doesn't take too long to go away. I am still wondering when the Golden years will show up. I am heading towards 75 and I haven't come across them yet lol.
I am so sorry. Stress does lower our immune systems. I keep trying to calm my JB!
Why would they give you antibiotics for Shingles, when it's a virus?
My sister is prone to shingles as well.
Like you the first time was pretty much after she delivered her oldest child. Hers was right on her one breast which made nursing very painful. Since then she has had it 6 times and every time the doctors here tell her she can only get it once.... Until they see that she has it once again.
Hope you heal up quickly.
God bless.
I had shingles on my ear and in my hair on a spot the size of my hand. I was yelping when my hair moved--very painful. But, if you have seen the awful red sores in the pictures of shingles on the ear, well, I did not have that. It was just red bumps all over. And, no infection. The doctor said I had a very mild case. I would have hated to have had anything any worse. They lasted for about three months or more. I am glad you could nurse your baby. Get well soon.
Been there, had that. And I am SO sorry...
