I picked up January's produce bag/box yesterday. It cost's $20 a month and here is what I got:
Potatoes
Carrots
Cooking Onions
Apples
Turnip
Cauliflower
Grape Tomatoes
Green Leaf Lettuce
Blueberries
Red Pepper
Thankfully, everything in the bag was things we like and can use. It was light on the fruit, as we only got blueberries and apples. So I guess I am making apple sauce again.

That is a good produce box. I do not eat much fruit and I like apples only in a pie. I love blueberries. The potatoes would be too much for me because, I rarely eat them but there are two of you and I guess with grandkids visiting and such, you can go through them in a month.
That's a nice looking produce box. We would use everything except the turnip. Not a fan of those. Lol.
There's a lot of good stuff there, isn't there?
xx
Quite a variety.
Another blogger I know in New Jersey buys something similar, a Misfits box. It's a good idea.
We used to get produce boxes from our Community Care (they used it as a fundraiser) but we stopped because it was advertised as being local produce only and we were getting things like bananas and oranges that quite obviously don't grow locally. We didn't get things like strawberries and corn which ARE produced locally so we gave it up. We liked the idea of the fundraiser and being able to support local farmers but it was all coming from the Ontario Food Terminal so thus not local at all.
Apple and blueberry pie would be nice.
Or a cobbler with custard or ice cream. I’m drooling
That was a great box of produce for $20.00. It would cost way more off the shelves here in Saskatchewan.
God bless.
That's quite a lot for the price, & gives you some good options.
I've often thought about getting a veg box, I like the idea of it but I think in my case it would be false economy plus the ones i've looked at work out far more expensive than if I buy separately. $20 (comes out a little over £12), seems more than you would buy all that for here in the UK. Lidl sell a wonky box of fruit and veg here for £1.50, you have to get in early as they go pretty quick though
