I just looked it up. It was Brian and Michael's song about the artist LSLowry, called "Matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs" LSLs paintings are all set around Manchester where my daughter and her family live. We are visiting them in 4 weeks time - and I hope there will be lots of Manchester trips in 2023.
Well I must say this made me happy - it was fun to find out that the #1 song when I was that age was by Rod Stewart (my favourite artist!) - Tonight's The Night.
The #1 pop hit in the US on my birthday in 1982 was "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John. Not one of my favorites of hers but it is what it was. lol
Here in the UK in 1984 it was Do They Know it's Christmas, Band Aid
Was that really 38 years ago!!
Shining Star by Earth Wind and Fire. Oh, I still love listening to them!
I'll Be There by the Jackson 5
Mine was "Hot in Here" by Nelly
I can't stand that song as it is one that sticks with me for days after I hear it. LOL
Mine was OMG by Usher and will.i.am - what a time, LOL!
Not sure, need to check. I do know the BeeGees and BTO were pretty big here.
God bless.
Ugghh... not mentioning it, but one that I find grating and obnoxious.
Un-Break my Heart by Toni Braxton. Not a fan. lol!
Ghostbusters was number 1, August 22,1984😀
Oh I forgot to answer! It was Killing Me Softly with His Song by Roberta Flack and I really never liked that song!
