Well as our gardens are still covered in snow, this is a reminder for me to make sure I plant plenty of sweet peas this year, as I love them. This photo was from our last house where we had a perennial sweet pea.
I am going to plant annual sweet peas this year, and have two varieties to chose from.

They are very lovely indeed!!! I'm hoping to find an apartment with a balcony so I can put a flower box out on it :o)
I LoVe sweetpeas and also picked up several packets of seeds to plant in my garden!
Spring fever is about..planning ahead!
Those are very pretty, Gill. I may have to consider planting some this year. They are so elegant looking.
Sweet peas always remind me of a vintage flower. My husband's Mom planted them wherever she lived.

I've started looking at seeds too! Still snow on the ground but seeing the sun and looking at seed packets lets me pretend spring is almost here!
p.s. your dog is adorable. A springer spaniel??
love looking at seeds, even with snow on the ground. Makes me think spring is nearly here!
Love the dog too! What breed? Springer spaniel?
sweet peas! such great flowers. the ones here should start blooming soon, I'd think! I love seeing them around. These are pretty, must be nice to have them in the house!
Thanks for the reminder! I need to purchase some sweet peas too. :)
Sweetpeas an all time favourite, I can smell the delicate perfume. When my first daughter was born in 1961 I received a posy of pink roses and blue sweetpeas. It was so simple and so beautiful.
I love sweet peas too and their heavenly scent. I just bought some curtains for my kitchen and they have sweet peas all over, blue ones. I know they will look cheerful all the time.
Blessings, Star
Gill,
So glad things have slowed down and I have time to catch up on my favorites. I have a patch of perennial sweet peas out side my studio that covers my old rod iron fence. One of my absolute favorites.
I have just posted a video you may enjoy and I'm hosting my first exchange.

Like you, I love sweatpeas! I had them at my last house and had to leave them, maybe this will be the year I plant more. I have also seen that stores are putting out their seed packs, but I'm afraid to buy any because I don't want to jinx spring! :-)
Sweet peas are one of my favorites. My grandmother back in the 1950s had them growing all along her water well at the side of the house! This was before they had plumbing and all the drinking water was pulled up in an oak bucket from a spring.
Ah now those are beautiful, bright, and I bet they smell lovely. I remember the trellis in my Dad's garden where I grew up, it was covered in sweet peas. I'm going to have to get some this year. Thanks for the reminder Gill, lovely!
Sweat peas are good at boque and any aflower arranging!
Pretty flowers!
Have a nice week!
Sweet peas - lovely - so delicate and with such a perfume. We had the perennial variety in our garden. A great splash of colour.
