Oh no I'm in trouble again!!!

So on Thursday I had to take Molly to the vets to get her blood taken for her allergy testing, $410 later!!  Anyhow they weighed Molly and she has put on 6 1/2 lbs since we got her.  She is now 45 lbs, and she has to lose weight.  The problem this to my mind she is always hungry, and  I have started making her the chicken breast, with brown rice and veggies, which she adores.  She gobbles up her breakfast and supper in minutes, so I have been giving her a little more to eat.  As its cold she's not out as much and not getting the exercise, so all this adds up to her putting on weight.

So she is going to go back on the bought food as I can monitor how much she eats better, and I know she is getting all the nutrients she needs.

I still have a horrible headache.  I have never had one this bad in a while.  I am blaming it on the fact that I have been varnishing part of the floor in our bedroom, on Monday through Wednesday.  I went to bed on Wednesday night at 7pm and slept right the way through until just after 5am on Thursday morning and as I am writing this on Thursday night at 6pm I am so tired and could go to bed now.

Also my mouth isn't healing properly from last week.  I have ran out of antibiotics, and have got a blister on the inside of my cheek.  I have been rinsing out my mouth with warm salted water, but it still stings like crazy when I drink anything too hot or too cold.  Orange juice about kills me with the stinging.  I will see how I feel after the weekend, if I am no better then I'll have to go to the dentist again.  Where they pulled the tooth that seems fine, its all around the tooth, the gum and my cheek which is still so sore.

That is also the reason I haven't been visiting anyone's blogs, as I my poor head is killing me.

Did you put your money in your pot today for the Daily Saving's Club?

Today's Money Saving Tip:

Trade Plants with Friends and Neighbors. One of the best and cheapest ways to get plants that you know will do well in your area is to trade with nearby friends, relatives, and acquaintances. Many species, such as iris, daylily, and hosta, can (or even need to) be divided periodically, while you can collect seeds or start cuttings from others.

Well, the thought just sort of popped into my head: You better know your neighbors real well before you start trading plants with them. You never know what they might be growing!

For heaven's sake, don't let that headache go too long. Could be a lot of things - especially since you don't usually have such. Keep us posted. No, you don't need to go around visiting everybody.

I can't handle varnish at all. I get headaches and sore throats. The ComputerSon throws up. My husband thinks we are making it all up; he just doesn't get it. Could you sleep downstairs for a while to see if your headache gets better? Better yet, get out of the house entirely. Take a vacation. Board Molly and let the vet feed her plain ol' DOG food. Why should YOU be the bad guy? It's the vets idea for her to loose weight. There now. Don't you feel better already?

Molly seems to be a very loved dog!! Chicken, veges and gravy - what a lucky thing she is. LOL. You poor thing, not a good combination of a bad headache and a sore mouth, I do hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear about your discomfort - orange juice would, I think, be too acid for drinking right now. Hope all gets better soon. I shall join Molly on diet!

Hello Gill
It may help if you drink cold drinks through a straw sort of directed to the back of your mouth. Just so the fluid doesn't swish around the mouth so much.
Did they use many instruments in your mouth - if they did maybe they rubbed on the parts where its really sore. Can you get Orased Gel over there - its mainly for ulcers but could be good to use.
Take care

I'm sorry that you're still not feeling well--I hope that changes very soon!!

As for Molly, remember that you can also give her unsalted green-beans if she still seems hungry.

TAKE CARE!!!

Oh Gill, I hope you feel better soon! Have you tried Tylenol Ultra Migraine Relief? Try taking some of that in the morning and at lunch, but no late than that because it have caffeine in it and you won't sleep. Those pills work great on me when I have a stubborn migraine.

you are having a time of it!!! Just go and take it easy for goodness sake, and do see the dentist, and don't do anymore floor, esp if you're doing it on your hands and knees because that can cause throbbing/pain where the tooth was (not to mention bleeding)
So, Gill, FEET UP!
blessings,
Niki

Hi Brit in Canada! I'm a Canadian in Africa :)

So, vet bills can run into the hundreds in Canada these days, huh? Wow!!!

I must say, varnish is definitely a culprit for a massive headache!!!

And with regard to the mouth blister - I had one and it was cured quickly with an antibiotic/antiseptic rinse... can't remember the name though.

Well nice finding you!

Cheers

So sorry!
I think you can get a toothpaste with potassium nitrate. It helps a lot. In fact, the dentist should prescribe one after doing anything with the tooth.
Ask him!
Take care

Sending get well soon vibes. Don't wait too long for that headache or sore mouth. And take a break from the varnish to see if that is causing it.

As For Molly, she will probably drop the weight fast once she can get out and run around more. Pop her on the treadmill if you have one :)

Hope things improve for you soon, get away from that varnish I think!

Most of our garden is made up of cuttings from others, it's a great thing to do.
