Thought today's post has better be a bit more upbeat!!!

Thanks for all your replies yesterday I really appreciated all your comments.

So on Monday, I did manage to get half of the attic vacuumed before I had problems with the shop vac. All in all that took me around an hour. I had a couple of loads of laundry which I hung out and got dried and ironed. It was super windy all day so they were dry in no time. I got the house tidied up and did some tidying up in the kitchen. All which made me happy, as I love to see the house nice and tidy. I actually enjoy just pottering around the house doing bits and bobs.

The allergies aren't too bad in the morning, but as the day progresses it gets worse. I have made an appointment for the doctors on Tuesday morning, so we'll see what this one has to say about my ear. I did manage to get some grass cut on Monday night, and will have to say I was scratching my nose a lot afterwards.

I also noticed I have a pile of raspberries ready, so will have to get them picked sooner rather than later. I did manage to get some weeding done in my veggie patch, not much, but a start. I am not sure where to start first, as the grass needs to be cut, the rasps need to be picked and the veggie garden is more weeds than veggies.......any ideas? Don't panic I am not stressing, just trying to decide which job should be done first?

I have to call into the garage also Tuesday morning, as I need to get this C V Boot thingy fixed, and they need to see the car, so they can order the part, that will be another $300. On a more positive note, dh can mend my headlight for $10.

All in all Monday was a more positive day, helped by the fact that I am feeling a lot better. Thanks for listening to me........

Pick the berries first - you don't want them to over ripen and they should be picked first off in the morning when it's still cool but not wet with dew.

Hope you are feeling better.

Raspberries first. And dont forget, you can just wash them and shove them in the freezer on a try lol
Weeds: When it is sunny or windy (or both), use a hoe and hoe em up and let nature kill em. A little bit often is much better than letting it get too big a problem with back breaking work. The how loosens the top layer of soil and this makes hoeing the next lot eaier!

Glad your feeling better, have you tried wearing a mask while mowing? You can buy them at many stores it might help your alleriges and yes Rasps first :)

I agree, pick the raspberries first. You're making money on them and you don't want them over ripened. Then weeds after a rain because they are so much easier to pull. We just got 1 1/2 inches of rain this morning and it's headed your way.

Also double check with the CV joint. We had a garage tell us we needed new ones one a week after we had them replaced by a different garage. All they wanted was more $$. They were brand new. B blew a gasket because we were only in there to buy new tires. Needless to say, we didn't buy the tires from that garage. And have never went back to them.

I'm wondering also if you allergies are troubling you because of your ear infection. Hopefully they'll give you some antibiotics to clear up the ear infection.

we can read or not!
Sure hope your ear & allergies are getting better!
I also use singulair, funny how they dont bother me in FLa, but as soon as I get into NJ I am plagued by them!

You are one busy lady. No doubt about that. My wife of 54 years, Patty, and I took out two patches of wild lilies we call, "Ditch Lilies" as they grow in side ditches along side of roads. They also grow in your backyard if you get a start of them. They have to be dug out. A lot of work for two old people (75 and 73) but we managed.

I hate pulling weeds unless it is the occasional weed here and there or grass is OK to pull if it is sedge grass but Kentucky Blue Grass will break your back trying to pull that stuff.

I enjoyed my first visit to your blog.

Good to hear you are feeling better Gill. Just a thought, do you were a face mask when you are cutting the grass? You may already but if not wondered if this would help.
