Welcome 2024

Must say, New Year's Eve was basically the same as any old day/night.  Watched an episode of Vera and went to bed normal time.  So nothing exciting around here.  Hubby works a lot over the Christmas holidays as the plant is shut down, so it's a crazy busy time for the maintenance guys.  He was super tired, he is starting to feel his age nowadays!

We got all the outside Christmas lights brought in and put away, so that's another job off the list.  I spent a good part of the day doing what I could on the Temperature Cross Stitch:

So now I record what temperature it is going to be each day and I think every few days I will stitch a few days at once.  For instance today will be a high of minus 3 oC , so I will stitch that is the second blue colour.  I will post a photo when I have done a few days.

Today is a regular day, and I am doing laundry; may as well take advantage of the cheap hydro.  Hubby is shoveling snow; there's not much.  Think we may find a movie and sit and watch that.  Supper is all done, just the same as last night.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Spoiled rotten.....

Yesterday was my birthday.  I had Liam overnight and so we had a quiet day.  I was thoroughly spoiled though by all my family.  Hubby got me a new Fitbit watch.  Dd and family made up a six month "subscription" for cross stitch stuff.  So I have a present to open on the 15th of the month for the next six months. Son and family got me these:

Have you seen these Lego sets?  I fell in love with them the first time I saw them.
I figured I couldn't "kill" these flowers😁
Lego has brought out some really neat adult sets.  Are you a fan of Lego?  Can't wait to start making these.

A couple of goals I am setting for myself.......

So I have just checked on my calendar and it seems I have put on 10 lbs since last September.  It's funny how those pounds just creep on; though I was pleasantly surprised it was only 10lbs.  Mind you I have known about those extra pounds for a while now, as I could feel it in my clothes.  So I am in a frame of mind again to do something about it, and have set myself a couple of goals.

  • Lose 30 lbs by the beginning of September.  Now that will translate to losing 5 lbs per month, which I think is doable....well I hope so.  If I lost 20lbs I would be happy.
  • One of my weaknesses is eating on a night, so another goal is to not eat anything after I have had my supper.  We at 5pm on the dot and are finished by 5:30pm.  I normally eat breakfast around 7am.  I have been doing this for four nights and so far so good.  I drink either water or herbal tea, on a night but no food.
  • Then my exercise of choice is walking.  I will admit to being terrified of slipping on the ice and snow, so that may be another couple of weeks until I pick that up again, as we still have a lot of snow around here.
One thing I am doing to stop myself eating on a night is keeping busy with my cross stitch.

Do you tend to snack on a night?  Or do you have another time of day which is bad for you?

Autumn/Halloween.........

I was in Home Sense the other day and was greeted by all the Autumn and Halloween decorations.  I do enjoy the whole Autumn/Fall decorating ...
