Nearly 5 years later......

and I am at a point where I can hang out my laundry again!

At our last home we were not allowed to hang out the laundry.  Here we have no rules that we have to follow.

I asked for money for my birthday, so I could purchase a "whirly gig," or as it's called in Canada an "Umbrella Dryer."

So on Sunday I was able to hang out two loads of laundry and as I always say there is nothing better than the smell of laundry that's been hung outside to dry.    Do you hang out your laundry?

Oh, yes, whenever the weather is kind. Even in the winter, if theres a breeze, things do dry and, as you say, the smell of air dried fabric is lovely!

I hang washing out in all weathers , its very windy here because the lands so flat and it can sometimes take some time to locate the washing youve hung out, i noticed the other day theres a pair of jeans up a tree in the field behind , not mine

I would love to hang out laundry but the pollen is so bad that I would just have to re-wash everything. The last two houses we have had were in areas that wouldn't allow clotheslines so I haven't hung clothes out in decades.

Yep, and I am so looking forward to being able to do so again very soon. Probably around the end of the month here in Saskatchewan.

God bless.

I have one of those whirly gigs. Haven't hung the wash out yet. Maybe this week.

We have to take our clothesline down so the ice sliding off the roof doesn't destroy it. When the line goes back up in the spring, that first load is *ALWAYS* bedding. Smells amazing.

How do you like the whirly gig clothes line? Do you like it as much as a regular clothesline? I have wondered about them...I have a regular clothesline but with getting hurt last February and my washer and dryer in the basement, I have started hanging any up. But that was always one of my favorite jobs.

My parents had one of those at their last regular home. And the home before that had a line. In winter they'd hang lighter things on a basement line.

Yes I love the smell of fresh washing. I remember hanging out the nappies on the line when my children were babies. It was lovely seeing those brilliant white nappies blowing.

I love a proper washing line but now have to have a rotary airer like yours as the garden is too long for a line & we'd have to have posts in the middle to support it.

Why did they stop you having a washing line? Surely much better for the environment than using a tumble drier constantly!

Yes I love to hang out my washing. I find it very relaxing. Getting into a freshly made bed with sheets hung outside is so calming!

I used to love hanging out laundry... it is one of the things I miss living where I am now. Like so many others have said - the smell of fresh sheets or towels after they have been sun dried - the best!!!
