What a beautiful night....

After supper we headed to the garden centre.  Dh wanted mulch for our garden.

Saw this as we walked in, it was all real, I think willow:
Bought 30 bags of mulch.  Managed to get 25 in the bed of the truck.  5 bags had to ride with us.
Sun was shining bright at 7 pm.
 Parking lot was empty.
Tomorrow this car park will be full.
We had to keep stopping the truck as we wanted to make sure everything was good in the back.  One placed we pulled over was by this cemetery.
Shame it is beside a busy road.
So I guess we are going to be busy tomorrow.

I often seeing people buying loose mulch by the cubic metre, shovelled into the back of a truck, and dumping it into their yards to spread later. I bet your home association would love that :)

Hubs is redoing the back garden -- by that I mean ripping out a ton of landscaping and starting over -- and he just empties 10 bags of mulch and we are about a third of the way through. Back to the garden center for us as well. We are having rain right now so that should be good for the plants that are already in the ground -- I don't think watering is nearly as good as rain so hopefully all will be well. Doing this sort of stuff in the dead of Texas heat usually doesn't end well -- at the very least it makes for a grumpy, sunburned Hubs.

That topiary is beautiful. I wonder how long it took to get it that way? 30 bags of mulch! My back aches for you.

Raining and windy here and will be all weekend no gardening for us ! Lovely photos . We buy our mulch and top soil by the trailer full from our local garden center and pick it up and haul it back here it is cheaper and we get more to for the price of the bags can be expensive . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

Oh, my aching back! That is my first thought when you talked about being busy today. But actually, I should be saying my aching hips!

30 bags of mulch? You're quite serious about the gardening.

The cemetery's lovely. Your note about a busy road reminds me of a cemetery in Toronto surrounded by freeways and off ramps. I have no idea how anyone accesses it.

When we go to nurseries, hubby's always happy when I leave him enough room to ride home!

When we went plant shopping the middle of May, I was very tempted to tell Harvey he would have to hitch hike home..... Only we were 2 1/2 hours away so I couldn't.

I love that willow sculpture!!! Just beautiful.

God bless.

Beautiful pictures. Thirty bags! Yup that's a lot of work but how good does it all look once it's finished

We found that buying a truck load of mulch to be much cheaper than bagged. Bags are easier to move around and put where you want them though. Either way, looks like lots of work, but will look so nice after you are done.
