When my mother came over in the summer, she brought over this bird feeder in the shape of a British telephone box. The only problem with it was that it was just painted and with the winters we have, it wouldn't have survived the winter.
I finally got around to buying some clear coat to seal the painted surface, so it could with stand the winter weather; or at least last a little longer.
Very simple to do and took only three spray coats to seal it.
I do need to replace the string with some wire as it will be easier for me to reach the hanger with a stiff wire, rather than the twine.

We have fewer and fewer public phone boxes in the UK, now so many people have their own mobile phones. There are three red ones in my village, but none has a phone in it. The one outside the Village Post Office contains a defibrillator, the one by the Village Hall holds the Community Library, and my neighbour has one full of flowers as a garden feature!!
I have always loved those phone booths. I would hate to see them go away.
I like it :)
All the best Jan
What a cute bird feeder. I am glad that you figured out a way to keep the paint in our very cold and sometimes snowy winters.
God bless.
Oh I really like that! I saw some phone boxes while I was over and I was glad to see that a couple of them had been redesigned as little libraries. What a great idea!
How adorable!
