It was a "flaps down" type of day...

on Thursday, as the wind was bitter outside.  So out came the John Deere hat with the flaps down to protect my ears.

Also guess who woke up and decided to do some work after the long winter.  Mind you the tractor did cough and splutter to start with but once it got going all was fine.

The tractor and trailer were kept busy raking up the fallen leaves and branches under the willow tree by the entrance to the driveway.  By the end of it all the firepit was stacked high.
If the wind would die down then I could have a fire to burn it all.  Mind you I don't have a fire permit, so I applied online for that Thursday night.  Should have it by the beginning of next week at the latest.

The raspberries are so overgrown with weeds, I am not sure where to start there.  I think I will tackle a little at a time so not to get overwhelmed with it all.  Now lets pray and hope we get some good weather so I get all the clean up done!!

I am a bit overcome by weeds over here too Gill! Like you say, a few at a time is the only answer.
It's nice to see your grass again!! and what a splendid pile of firewood or brushwood, whatever it is.
I like the hat.

How interesting that you can get a fire permit. Bonfires in the garden are still a no-no here.

It's no warmer today minus 5C when I put the washing out this morning.
The winter detrius is overwhelming isn't it. We have a fire ban in effect all April, can't see why, it rained all Sunday and we are due rain all weekend plus two days next week.

Weeds, we are suppose to get SNOW the next couple of days. Already I'm getting tired of this!!! Hope your toothache is gone. Hugs

Funny how these late frosts don't seem to bother the weeds but those newly sprouted spinach plants aren't so keen. The garden is a funny old place.

I hope your toothache is better...we don't have to worry about burn permits here. Sometimes if we don't have rain for a while and everything gets dry, they ban burning all together but who would want to burn stuff at a time like that?

I hope you take lots of shots of the fire, nothing like a fire to sit around at and drink and chat with friends.
You look great with the hat on.
