Hasn't even been two months yet.......

and already we have had a problem with the Keurig.  Remember I wrote a blog post about it here.

One of the things I love is able to use my PC Great Canadian coffee pods, as that is my all time favourite coffee.

That coffee pod is not made by Keurig though.  So the other day I was making a cup of coffee and it flooded out of the top with water and there was no coffee.  Thought I had done something wrong, and/or there was something wrong with the pod.  Tried it again and it came out okay.  Tried it again the next day and same thing happened it flooded everywhere.  So I call Keurig Canada and the problem is the coffee pods.  They are recyclable and the filter on the pod is too thick.  So when the water is gushing through the needle it can't flow through the pod and filter so backs up.  Which then results in coffee grounds getting into the needle and cup and blocking up the needle.

{{{SIGH}}} So I had to flush out the coffee maker, clean out the needle and go from there.  I called PC to let them know about it, and this is the first they have heard of this.  They said they would pass on my concern to quality control.  Told them to get back to me.  So it will be interesting to see if they do.

I hope this is not one of many problems I have to deal with regarding my Keurig, as I have heard other people complaining about them.

Just like receiving a Xmas Present.......

I got a package from Dailylike Canada on Thursday.  I had eagerly been watching the mail box for it's arrival and I wasn't disappointed!!  Look at the cute duck tape on the front......

 Sara always writes a personalized message.  Customer service at it's finest!

 She always includes little samples of other fabric they carry.

I bought all fabric in the photo below in Cotton Oxford weight.  So not quite as heavy as canvas but perfect for bags.  Love the colour combinations. 

 She carries a great selection of laminated cotton, which is perfect for wet bags and cosmetic bags.

 I also picked up a couple of metres of this Linen Fabric, never bought this before and it is GORGEOUS!!  I mean jump up and down stunning!!!!😀

 I also ordered a couple of metres each of the cotton webbing strap.  Super sturdy and holds up well.

 Finally some stripy cotton ribbon/tape.

Now to create............only snag is, I have a hundred and one things I need to do first!!

What do you call your Mother?

There are many different names for your Mother, which one do you use?

For us being from Northern England, we use the term MAM.  Although when exasperated with something she has done, I call her MOTHER with a tone in my voice....LOL

Our children call me MOM, but when I am telling the girls something about their mother I will say MAM.

I don't pronounce it "MARM," like what you would say to the Queen, it's strictly MAM.

More soup bowl cozies

Made a couple of soup bowl cozies for a quick gift the other day.

Two fat quarters or two 10 " x 20 " pieces of fabric and four pieces of batting 10 " x 10" and thread is all you need to make these.  The full instructions are on this blog post.

The photos below are all soup bowl cozies I have made in the past.

I generally make them in pairs as they are reversible.  The can be put in the microwave and are fully washable.  I don't throw them in the dryer though.

Slimline Wallet............

I have an "internet friend," I have known for years.  First met her through the blogs.  She has her own sewing business and sews some amazing things.  Her name is Carla, and her Facebook page is Carla's Creations.  She has published a couple of patterns, which you can buy here.

One of the "big" patterns to hit the market over the past couple of years is the Necessary Clutch.  I find that too cumbersome for me.  Carla made her own pattern for a Slimline Wallet, so finally I decided to give it a try.  

I have to say the instructions are really easy to follow and I was so pleased with my first attempt:

 I love how there are numerous pockets for my various cards.  The zippered section is great for my change, and I pop any notes I have behind the zippered pocket.

I will be making more of these, and may try the Mini Slimline one next.

Lavender.......

It was a mixed bag of weather on Sunday, a little of everything.  We popped to the garden centre for me to pick up a couple of pots of spring bulbs to brighten up the house for Easter.  Wasn't happy with the selection, so picked up a pot of lavender, as there is none in the garden.  After having it in the house for the next month I'll plant it outside.  I haven't re potted it yet into my cup and saucer planter.  Thought the planter was cute.

 Never heard of Anouk Spanish Lavender.

As per this site Gardenia it sounds perfect for our garden.  I checked out Freeman Herbs, there are all sorts of things on their site.

My sewing room.....

I have taken over the second bedroom on the main floor as my sewing room.  The previous owners small children had that room.  You can see on the top right of the photo below some glow in the dark stickers on the ceiling.  On Thursday I decided to dedicate most of the day to catching up with some sewing.

 The rug in the room is one I won from Discount Luxury at the end of 2018.  Goes perfect in that room.  Luckily it also makes it easy for me to see all the pins I managed to drop!!

 I have to put the screen back into the window, I take them out over winter.

This room also doubles as a bedroom, as that sofa turns into a sofa bed.  We got a gift card from our real estate agent and we used it at Structube to buy this sofa and it's great for the grands to sleep on.  Our daughter painted that picture in high school.

 The closet is where I keep most of my fabric............well the cotton fabric.  The rest is in a bedding box down the basement.

 I can see a lot of my sewing table............it's a miracle!!!!
