I have an "internet friend," I have known for years. First met her through the blogs. She has her own sewing business and sews some amazing things. Her name is Carla, and her Facebook page is Carla's Creations. She has published a couple of patterns, which you can buy here. One of the "big" patterns to hit the market over the past couple of years is the Necessary Clutch. I find that too cumbersome for me. Carla made her own pattern for a Slimline Wallet, so finally I decided to give it a try. I have to say the instructions are really easy to follow and I was so pleased with my first attempt:
I love how there are numerous pockets for my various cards. The zippered section is great for my change, and I pop any notes I have behind the zippered pocket.
I will be making more of these, and may try the Mini Slimline one next.

Made a couple of hats as part of Christmas gifts. This one is "Christian's Hat" by Agnes Kutas, I got the pattern off Raverly, but you can get it here as well. I loved the pattern and it was super easy to follow. I am now going to make the matching scarf for dh. The hat is for someone else. The good news both these patterns are free!!
This hat pattern is called "Kool Hat," by Mei Lynne Travis from Yarngear. I got the pattern from Raverly and Mei Lynne does have a blog, but I got an "unsafe," warning from my virus protection software when I tried to go into it. I have sent her a message. Regardless this is a great easy pattern and a fast knit and it too was free on Raverly, not sure if she has the same pattern on her blog though?
As I have said before, I will never be a champion knitter. I know my limitations and when searching for patterns on Raverly I tend to tick off EASY as one option. Saying that I will say I found these challenging enough not to make me sick of knitting them. I like to have an interesting pattern, which is quick and easy as well. I find Raverly as a great source for knitting and crochet patterns.

I have done any sewing. It seems forever. I bought a pattern (pdf format)from Thread Riding Hood to make a child's skirt out of two fat quarters of material. Both N's are into wearing dresses and skirts at the moment so I thought I would make a skirt each for them.
The pattern is so easy to follow and she gives you step by step instructions. I did not use fat quarters as I had other material available. Can't wait to give them to the girls.
As I liked this pattern so much I think I will have a look through her other patterns here and see what they have.
Someone asked me if I was still knitting? I am in between sewing. I made this dishcloth this week using this pattern Love how it turned out.
I am going to start on knitting a Beekeeper's Quilt next week. It's going to be a project that is done over a long while. Here is an image of one that's being put together:

I purchased the pattern from Tiny Owl Knits and I think it will be a fun project and very portable, something to take with you where ever you go. Has anyone ever made one of these? Myself and Angie from The Knitting Basket are going to be doing one each and maybe some other women? I am in no rush to finish it, and will be doing it on a Thursday when I go to the Knit and Sit. Then I am jumping on the Necessary Clutch Wallet bandwagon. I purchased the pattern on the weekend and the hardware. Not sure which fabric I will be using yet, but again looking forward to making this.
