Eating Out

We finally "ate out" last week in a restaurant.  Well we had a breakfast sandwich, hash brown and coffee at McDonalds, so really a fast food joint.  Now I have to say it worked out well, as here in Ontario, you have to show proof of vaccination and identification to the restaurant before you are allowed to dine in.  You need to keep your mask on other than when you are eating or drinking as well.

Normally this McDonalds is pretty busy; the drive thru was, but inside the restaurant there was probably less than 10 people dining in.  We felt safe and quickly ate our meal, and then left.

We are hoping to eat out this week at Red Lobster, as they have really good fish and chips.  We will see how it goes.

I posted two book reviews over the weekend, here. Neither were the best of books.  One slightly better than the other.  I do not like posting negative reviews, but sometimes it can't be helped.

I remember reading a book detailing local history.  Now I think it was a self published book, as there were so many grammatical errors, it drove me crazy.  I am not perfect with my grammar myself, but when reading a book, I do expect the spelling to be correct and things to make sense!

Have you eaten out recently and did you have to show proof of vaccination?

We didn't really eat out before the pandemic and I don't agree with having to 'prove' you've had a jab, that's very excluding since having the jab does not mean you cannot have or pass on Covid. Glad they're not taking that road here.

I had to show proof of vaccination at a concert on the weekend.

We've ate out 3 times at a restaurant. It was 3 in the afternoon when we ate so not hardly anybody there. I live in Iowa in the US. No proof of vaccination required or mask when you eat out.

I happened to go to a food court on the first day requiring proof. It was in Commerce Court downtown. The seating area was cordoned off with only two spots to enter with a person checking.
It went well, just a big awkward as you have your food in your hand, flipping phone for vaccine proof and then having to open wallet for picture ID. No one complained, everyone had vaccine on their phone except one person who had a paper vaccine proof.
When I came home I pit my vaccine proof and a picture of my photo ID into a separate folder on my phone.
Would prefer to show proof before entering food court than having to juggle.

We haven't had a dine in experience in YEARS. We get take out when we are travelling. A family member is a franchise owner at that big coffee shop we all know well. She has closed her dining room and only offering take out now. She is in a location well known for folks protesting everything under the sun and her place was recently targeted. I would love to go to a Chinese buffet again, or maybe Swiss Chalet, but it's not looking like that will happen again soon.

We still can’t eat out
Our restrictions are slightly relaxed as of today. We can now travel 15 kilometres from our home to exercise
So at least I’ll get to see different things

Had coffee out last weekend with the husband.

First time he's been carded in 50 years, lol

I know exactly what you mean about self published books. The bad spelling and grammatical errors drive me to distraction.

God bless.

Yes, we have been eating out for a few months, usually once a week. No, do not have to show proof of vaccination. I am curious about the books..
