They look like apple blossoms. There is a variety that doesn't bear fruit but I forget it's name.

I don't think crabapples are much good for eating although I have heard of crabapple jam.

Yes, I was going to say a form of apple, some only fruit if they are near another of the right variety to 'fertilize' it, maybe its companion got lost! We planted some here and had to check that. Lovely garden coming there Gill, hard work thats worth it.

What a lovely tree! The others are right, it is a crab apple tree, we had some in our one of our backyards. I've always wanted to get married in early May so I could have my picture taken under one in my wedding dress :o)
Flowering trees are always beautiful. Lucky you to have it in your garden.
The blossoms are so many and so lovely, falling like jewels on the ground. Spring is wonderful!

It's crab apple. Makes the best jelly, if it ever produces for you.
