And today's problems are (yes there are multiple ones!!)

got up on Monday to find ants on my countertop, finally tracked down where they were coming from, behind a socket/plug??? So took the cover off and squirted some ant powder in there, and managed not to electrocute myself at the same time. Have a horrible feeling the sneaky little beggars will be back.......

Went online to Health Canada to change my address for my health card, and found that our address doesn't exist. So I send them an email asking them what I should do? It will be interesting to see if they ever reply!! Also it felt a bit like I been there and done that with the address problems.

Then finally the guy came to look at the roof, to see what's what, and now tells me there is no flashing between the extension roof and the house.......after sighing, I said those famous words, "give me a quote, and I'll talk to my husband." I also told the guy that I have yet to find the money tree at this house!!!

Can someone PLEASE tell me that all these problems will end one day???

*huggles* hon..I sure hope they do. Seems like such a struggle...the end result will ultimately be what you want/like to have ...It does sound overwhelming, just look and take it one day/ one task -- at a time. You shall get there I have faith!

Hang in there, Gill - this too shall pass. . . that's what my grammy used to tell me.
Your address doesn't exist?? LOL. I hope you share their answer with us after they respond to you!
Just think of all the stories you will have to tell down through the years -- perhaps writing a Journal of all these events, and maybe even publishing it later???
Good luck & many hugs coming your way!

You deserve a whine Gill. Moving into a new house always has a few hiccups but there will be light at the end of the tunnel very soon I am sure of it.

Here are some suggestions for your ant problem. We have used the vinegar solution and it has worked for us. http://www.thefrugallife.com/ants.html
And yes..Gill..the problems will end. Living in the country though, I must say, there is always something to do or something to fix. Just when we think we get caught up with things we 'find' something else to do. Enjoy the journey! Blessings, Heather

Hugs.... you definitely will need flashing though, otherwise when a huge rain storm comes, you'll have dripping water. Ask me how I know. We were has upset has you were. I know how you are feeling.

It will end one day though. Do one thing at a time. Start with the smallest so it's not so overwhelming and continue on.

We had some horror stories too. Hang in there....it does get better.

Oh, Gill, I'm sorry that right now you're having what surely seems to be a never ending streak of problems. I guess that's always the risk you take when buying an older home. I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end.

"Give me a quote and I'll talk to my husband"

One of my epitaph choices for sure.

Awwww, not fair!! I will have a tantrum on your behalf. Are the ants big or small?

Gill - That British Woman said...

the ants are small, tiny little things???

Oh thank goodness, from my research last summer, those ants are not destructive, just pesky. Apparently any open source of sugar or anything else that they like will attract them. The big ones are able to eat through houses...we had to replace about 5 2x4s on the back of our house (the big ants are called carpenter ants)

Tuesday was a mixed bag type of day. Had the appliance repair guy come again to install another circuit board in the fridge.  When hubby got...
