Oldie, but a goodie.........

Sunday was one of those laid back days, where despite the sun shining most of the day, we had snow showers and freezing cold temperatures mixed in.  So I decided it was a good day to watch a movie in the afternoon and this one popped up when I was scrolling through Netflix:

I have seen this movie before, and it's one of those movies that feels like a warm hug.  Nothing over dramatic, and it makes you feel warm inside.

Bit like a Bridget Jones Movie, Pretty Woman or The Full Monty.

The Thursday Murder Club | Official Trailer | Netflix

We finally watched this the other night and it was so good.  It was one of those movies that wasn't overly "deep."  You didn't have to think a lot, it wasn't scary and all the actors were familiar faces.

If I had to say something negative it would be Pierce Brosnan's accent in the movie was horrible....LOL

I didn't realize it was the first book in a series of books written by Richard Osman  I hope they make movies of the other books in the series.

If you haven't seen the movie, I would say see it.  We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sunday Song

This song is all over the internet at the moment, thanks to it being featured in the movie Saltburn.  It's a catchy song, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor performed it at the Bafta's in February.

I haven't seen Saltburn and probably won't it's not my kind of movie, but here's the trailer to it.

Rocketman

Rocketman is now on Netflix Canada, so we finally got around to watching it the other night.  I was a little surprised when we watched it as it wasn't what I was expecting.  It reminded me of going to live theatre and watching a musical, more so than watching an actual movie.  

You had to feel sorry for Elton, as at the end of the day all he wanted was to be loved.  I had no love for his mother, but you could see how close he was to his Nan.  It features his life story up until just before he met his husband, David Furnish, which I guess makes sense.  As things have settled down a lot in Elton's life since he met him.

If I had to compare the movie with Bohemian Rhapsody, I preferred Bohemian Rhapsody.
