Cross stitch and more........

My weekly crafting, reading and puzzle making post.

It was flipping hot last week and this week is not looking any better with temperatures in the 30's all week....BOO!!!!!  Therefore it's all in the red this past week.

I am reading this book at the moment.  It's good, but it's taking it's sweet time getting to the nitty gritty of the story.  I seem to be in a World War II genre of reading books at the moment.
The puzzle is slowly coming together.  I have been busy this past week with hubby being off, so haven't had chance to do much.

What have you been up to in your spare time?

The year before the pandemic I bought a jigsaw in a charity shop. It was john constables painting of Salisbury Cathedral. I'd visited SC a lot in our time Dorset, and thought I'd enjoy the puzzle when we retired to Norfolk. I fi ally got it out last week. That was when I discovered it must have been kept in the CS window. The cover of the box was so faded the jigsaw inside was totally different colours. After three days of struggle I gave up. I'm reasonably good at jigsaws but this defeated both of us. What shall I do now? I'm not sure it is right to donate it again,it is "not fit for purpose" ps your weather stitching is Fab 🧩🧩🧩

Absolutely nothing, with this neck brace on and at least 20 more days with it around my neck.
Cross stitch and puzzle are both looking good.

Absolutely nothing as I am still wearing the neck brace and will be for another 20 days.
Cross stitch and puzzle are both looking good.

Yes, you're certainly able to use lots of reds and oranges on your cross stitch! It's summer though and I must admit I refuse to complain because I find the winter drags on so long.
Your puzzle is coming along too. RC didn't do any last winter so hopefully he'll pick them up again this fall.

I've been working some extra hours as my office mate is on vacation. I have a couple of library books on the go but it is slow going at the moment. I have some puzzles but I need to get one of those mats so that I can roll it up and put it aside if I need the dining table. I am looking forward to a lazy long weekend.

Yes indeed, the weather has been so warm across the country. I try and get done what needs doing outside early and then stay in and get things done inside. That is certainly a very red month.

God bless.
