Seriously thinking about this one.......

I haven't had word back about my sewing machine yet, he was hopeful it wasn't much when dh dropped it off.  He had a quick look at it; and as he said it's been a good one.  Dh asked what the equivalent was now and he said this one:

You can read more about it here.  It has all the bells and whistles and then some.  I use my sewing machine a lot, and would get a lot of use out of it, but it's a lot of money, $2,500.00 CDN.

There are pro's and con's to this, with there being more pro's to con's at this point!!

If we bought it now before dh retires while we have the "extra" money, it would hopefully last the rest of my days.  I am familiar with this brand of sewing machine and like the service the store provides where I would buy if from.  It has everything I need in a sewing machine and more.

On the down side is the price, that's an awful lot of money.  The store is an hour and 15 minutes from where we live now, if we move further away, I would have to find a new service centre and there are not that many around.

When I pick up my sewing machine I will have a look at this one in the store.  I do have to say though I am tempted!!

I treated myself to the Husqvarna 785Q when I retired and I love it. They are a lot of money but they just hum along nicely. When I bought it I thought some of the "bells and whistles" crazy - eg the sensor foot lift - but now I'd hate to be without it.

I bought myself a Janome 11000 a few years ago for about the same price and I love it. still need to learn how to use the embroidery part of it though. I know I would never spend that much when I was retired. If you love sewing and thats how you like to spend your time then its worth it. People pay more than that for other hobbies.

You've got a bit of time to decide.

Mmm that is a lot of money.

I've been considering getting a lighter weight one to carry to quilting classes as my Singer is an old heavyweight one which I got for my 21st birthday. However I love it and it's been brilliant. It does all I need it to for the moment so I think I'll wait before I go for a new one.

Several years ago I bought a Bernina QE440 and it has lots of bells and whistles and I love it. It was expensive but I have never regretted buying it.

I treated myself to a new sewing machine (it does quilting as well), a new serger (overlock) and an embroidery machine in the years leading up to Harvey's retirement. I am so glad that I did.

God bless.

rarely comment, just stop by. But I have a Janome horizon (just under three grand us) and the extra money and the things it can do are worth it, worth it, worth it.
