Yarn Along contribution.........

I am participating in the Yarn Along meme this week. (FOR SOME REASON I GOT IT IN MY HEAD THIS HAPPENED ON A TUESDAY, YARN ALONG HAPPENS ON A WEDNESDAY, OOPS!)  If you click on the above link you can find many other fine people who are sharing their crafts.

Since last Tuesday I have knitted the following.  Two toddler girl hats using this pattern.
Do you remember the knitted scarf craze that happened a couple of years ago?  Well I have numerous (5) balls of this sort of yarn and no desire to make scarves, so thought I would give place mats a go.  This one was knitted in US 11 8.0 mm needles, and is around 14 inches wide and 7 inches long.  Not sure what I will do with it but it will come in for something!
I also found two balls of dishcloth yarn, so made this one which is 10 inches square and am around half way through that other ball.
Haven't shown you a photo of Our Little Munchkin recently.  Here she is on her new garden chair yesterday afternoon:

Have fun using your yarn. I bought a bunch a while back and fully intended to make some wonderful things with it. Unfortunately it is still in its wrapper in a drawer in the studio. Some day I am going to have to admit I am worthless as a knitter and pass it along to someone who will really use it.

Your getting quite prolific with your knitting. Well done. Go girl lol

I go on an occasional yarn-buying spree. Why? Apparently to benefit my daughter and various 'knitty' friends, lol.

There's a nearby specialty knitting store which carries silk 'yarn' made from old kimonos... methinks I'm going to make some knitter very happy. Wouldn't that make a soft cap for your Munchkin!

Little Munchkin is adorable. We have the same little chairs for the grandkids, but they are starting to grow out of them now :( Lots of knitting going on at your place. Everything looks good.

This reminds me that I need to finish my mom's blanket. It is almost complete. Just a half hour's work has been in limbo for the last month! Love the Munchkin! She looks very serious doing something really important...

Munchkin looks great in her sun hat. I like knitted placemats. My Mom used to make them and she still uses them.

I still see that scarf yarn in the shops. I cannot tell you how much I loathe the stuff.

Long story short, the wavy stuff defeated my very, experienced knitter/mother. So she packed it up and sent it to me because she felt I might be able to do the ripple scarf thing. Well, the stuff kept slipping off the needles. I spent enough time on it that I could have finished six scarves in the time it took to make one.

Never again. I'd rather knit another sweater from a graph.

The hats are cute, but not as cute as your little Munchkin :-)

That is a lot of knitting in just one week! I never know what to do with that scarf yarn when people give it to me - I made one back when it was the craze, but it turned out to be neither that pretty nor that functional! So I regretted it!

Those would also do well for arm rests or on the tops of chairs.

Wonderful work.

I never conquered knitting. Granny showed me how to yarn on and pearl. That's the height of my ability.

I did teach myself to crochet but Mom did neither.

We were needing rain but we had many good soakers the week before this six inches. The valley was full but now so are the ponds and the creeks. The plant world is very happy.

You have really taken to knitting!

I tell you, our babies are growing up! Your Munchkin has changed since I last saw her...and I know Lorelei changes every time I see her.

Our local Knitters Guild holds an annual De-Stash sale. Anything in our stash which we don't want anymore is donated to the Guild and they have a de-stash sale (like a garage sale) at our last meeting of the year. Proceeds of the sale goes towards paying for program / guest speakesr for the following year.
