Night and Day.....

On Saturday we had to turn the a/c on as it hit the mid 30's (oC).  On Tuesday the temperature just dropped and it went down to single digits with a gale force wind.

I noticed something different on one of our trees today.  I will apologize in advance for the quality of the photos, as it was so windy.  The top of the tree has purple tips on it.

Never seen that before.

Our Little Man turned 8 months old yesterday.  His sister turned 28 months old also on the same day.  Looking forward to seeing them both this weekend.

OH my your little people are adorable! I wish I could see ours this week, month, season.
Never seen purple tips on a conifer, but we do get nice brown pinkish tips where new growth is happening. Maybe it is the same thing.

Enjoy those babies when you see them!

Cute pics. The children look cute too:) I hope you keep us updated on the purple sprouting firs. Curioser and Curioser. Someone will have an answer though, flowers cones or new leaves or frost damage or sun damage or rain damage :)

Kids grow up so fast! The Little Princess and the Little Man look beautiful. They seem to be getting along well too.

As for the weather, it is still chilly in Istanbul. Yesterday I turned on a small space heater for half an hour to break the chill in my office. They say it will get warm real fast starting tomorrow.

Your grandbabies are too sweet for words!

Is it possible your tree is setting cones?

Single digits here as well - cold wet windy, that's Melbourne most winters. Would love to see 30c again.
Gosh your little ones are growing fast - are they your son's children?
Oh and you are doing well with the knitting. Another easy thing to do are mittens - they'll go well with the hats ( if. The children will keep them on!)

I turned the furnace on the other day! It has been quite chilly here. Looks like new growth on the tree! New growth for the little ones too....how cute they are!

It was really windy here too yesterday. We actually slept under two blankets last night. Love seeing how fast your grandbabies are growing!

Your grandchildren are very cute Gill, and that fir tree is very interesting. I saw one the other day here that surprised me. I shall do a post about it sometime.

I would think what's happening with the tree involves cones.

The weather is being stupid. I refuse to turn the furnace back on. And I read that it's supposed to rain every day of the long week-end so that'll be nice.

Your grandchildren are so CUTE! How sweet and thank you for sharing. I've never seen purple tree tops either. Please let us know if you discover what causes it. We had 80F yesterday and it's 40F today. Brrrr. I closed the windows very quickly when I got out of bed this morning!.
Blessings,
Betsy

Getting caught up with you. I've seen those purple heads out here.
And yay knitting, you have quite a bit going on.
Condo boards are something I dealt with a long time ago. I'm o very relieved to be out of that nonsense, the fees tripled in the four years I had one.

Beautiful children. I don't think the purple on the tree is a concern. Like others, I think it's related to cones or growth.

May the big truck traffic slow soon.
