Please, please, please click on the link for the condo of the week, I have NEVER seen anything like it, here is the link  Each room just made my mouth drop open even more and not really in a good way I may add.  I guess it takes all sorts to make a world, but I think I'll keep my $3 million dollars (if I had that much money) for another house.............

The home of the week although nice wasn't my cup of tea, as I think like one of the comments said I would prefer more than five feet between my neighbours for that sort of price, here is a link to it.  I am assuming there was an old house there before hand and it was torn down and this put up in it's place.

A couple of tips to make Christmas easier on yourself........

Angela over at Tracing Rainbows is having a weekly Christmas Tips segment so I thought I would join in.

My number 1 tip is put a little money away each week towards Christmas.  Coming up with a lot of money close to Christmas to buy everything isn't feasible for me, so I put money away each week.  That way when I have to start Christmas shopping  the money is there in my pot.

My number 2 tip is after Christmas when taking down your Christmas cards, write down on a piece of paper or in my case on an Excel spreadsheet on the computer who you got Christmas cards from and whether or not you got a note, letter or photos from them.  That way you know for the following year who you need to end cards too.

When I was out in the car on Thursday I was listening to my usual radio station and I see it's been switched over to Christmas music now, so I guess it won't be long until Christmas now!!!

By the way I will be starting my Christmas You Tube music video series next Thursday......can't wait!!!

What to say about the "home of the week," I think the best word would be confused.  I really don't know how else to describe it?  I will say who ever buys it will have their work cut out trying to make it all work..........and who in their right mind has an animal print on the main stair carpet?

The condo of the week, is okay I guess, but I do hate those concrete ceilings, they would get on my nerves.  I guess I am not into that whole exposed look.  The view isn't too bad from the balcony, however in the scheme of things I wouldn't want it.

Home of the week and other things

Well this weeks home of the week is a on sale for a cool $1 million!!  When I first saw it I thought perfect, then I realized it's a semi and you're only getting half of the house, not so perfect.  I still think its a gorgeous looking house from the outside though.  However totally disappointed with the inside, the space is not well laid out to my mind.  Some rooms seem huge, while others much too small.  It won't take you long to cut the grass.....oh wait there is not grass to cut!!!


You're paying for the location here, as it's across the road from the lake.  However as someone commented it's a busy road, so you have to contend with traffic noise as well.  Overall love the look of it outside, not too keen on it inside, especially the wall paper in the powder room, huge pattern for a small area!!


What's your thoughts?

I spent part of yesterday in the garden and have more or less cleaned out the veggie patch of weeds.  Another hour of weeding and it should be ready to rototiller and put too bed for winter, mind you I have to dig up the veggies first.

I have been quiet about the tractor this year, haven't I?  Well thought it was too good to be true, I went and broke the bloody thing yesterday.  I broke a bolt off the bottom, so can't cut the grass now until dh takes it all apart and attaches another bolt.  I can still use it to pull the trailer around, just not for cutting grass {SIGH}

You know I think it dropped off as I cleaned underneath the cutter with the hosepipe, which is very unusual for me, and I think it shocked my poor old tractor and the bolt dropped off?

A very important message to my neighbours:

You know I like all of you, but could you do me a little favour and stop dropping off your laundry at our house for me to do.  I did another couple of loads on Thursday and even my iron is protesting on how much ironing it has had to do recently.

House and cottage of the week, plus other stuff..

This week's house/condo of the week is just plain awful.  I can normally find something I like about a place, but honestly this condo is just plain awful, right down to the way it is all decorated, and it has just had $300,000 spent on it........where?  I guess if you want to be downtown it has the convenience factor but otherwise, I wouldn't give you $100,000 for it, never mind 1 million!!!


The cottage of the week, well there wasn't one, they did an "office space," instead.  I personally would find it hard to work in a space like that, as it is too "pretty."  Also that space is way too tidy for any real work to get done, don't you think.  Then in the summer how much work would you get done with a deck just outside the door?

We went to the market again on Thursday and walked away with 12 bags of rolls for the freezer.  More leeks, carrots, parsnips and broccoli.  Also 7 white pine trees and we bought a gorgeous turn of the century chest of drawers with a mirror on the top from the antique market.  I will take a photo when we get it cleaned up.  Dh said as soon as I saw it my face just lit up, and he knew I wanted it.  Also the guy that owned the booth happened to be there and knocked $35 off of it, so that was nice of him.

As far as I know I have emailed everyone who requested the crockpot recipe book.  If I have missed you please let me know?  I am hoping to get caught up with everyones blogs over the weekend.  It's been a very busy week again around here.

House and cottage of the week, plus other stuff..

This week's house is only 12 million dollars!!!  http://www.torontolife.com/daily/informer/gimme-shelter/2011/08/31/house-of-the-week-rosedale-mansion/  I personally have mixed feelings about it.  I actually like the back yard area, not sure where I would put my washing line though!!!  I would have liked to see a full photo of the house from the front wouldn't you?  If I was given it I wouldn't say no, mind you I couldn't afford to pay the property taxes as they are over $41,000 a year.

I guess after that house the cottage of the week is a steal at only $1,285,000.00 then? http://www.torontolife.com/daily/informer/gimme-shelter/2011/08/26/cottage-of-the-week-acton-island/attachment/aug11hotwapiary_intro/  I actually like this one, love the look of it outside and even inside isn't too bad.  I see it's electric heat and that master bedroom would be a *itch to try and keep warm in winter.  There are a lot of neighbours, and when the leaves drop they would be more noticeable.  Still if you were giving it to me, I wouldn't say no to it.

I saw my little friend the other morning eating apples:

It does look as though it has grown and it's coat looks a lot thicker.  It was the first time I had seen it in a week or two.  As soon as it saw me on the deck it ran away which was good.  Mind you I was quite a distance away from it.

I have since cut the grass so it looks more like a bowling green again, with lots of nice lines, going left to right in the photo!!!  You all know how I love to see those straight cut lines in my grass!!!

Went to the hairdressers on Thursday afternoon to have a wash, cut and blow dry.  Hate having my hair washed as it kills my back.  The cut was alright, and when she blowdryed my hair dh said I looked as though I had a wig on and you know what he was right!! 

I trust her with cutting my hair but the whole styling thing wasn't for me.  However I need to try out some styles for the wedding.  I'll go back the second week of October and see how she does then.  I'll decide at that point whether or not I'll do my hair on the day of the wedding, or will go to the hairdressers.
