One week down......

Been at work all week, well except on Wednesday when we had the latest snow storm (SIGH)

It was an interesting week with one thing and another.  On Monday on the way home I was caught speeding, and ended up with a $52.50 speeding ticket, with no points. ((SIGH))  Lucked out though as I was doing 99.9 km an hour in a 60 km zone, in the middle of no where I may add, so I got off lightly.  Probably because despite me having a lead foot, this is the only second  speeding ticket I have had in Canada.  So for the rest of the week I have been driving like "Miss Daisy."

Work got easier as the week progressed.  I will admit to being really tired on Monday and Tuesday.  Probably because I was having to make parts of my brain work that hasn't been used for a while...LOL  The work I do is everything and anything in the office.  It mainly consists of answering the phone; 4 lines, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections (which I enjoy) and anything else that has to be done.

It's nice to talk to customers I have known for years, as this was my job before I "retired," so I know it well.  Of course lots have changed over the years, so there is always something new to learn or remember.  It's a full hour of travelling there and a full hour back, which sucks.  The place is so close to the airport that the planes fly over the building regularly.  You actually don't really notice the planes after a while...LOL  I work from 9 am until 3 pm which is great hours.  I find the time goes by so fast and I barely have time to eat, which may be a good thing.

My treat though is I have a hot chocolate in my travel mug on the way home from work everyday.  It satisfies my craving for chocolate, so that's good.

I am missing being at home.  The only thing I am keeping up with is the laundry.  With doing that batch cooking last weekend, it means that supper is a quick fix, but I have found once supper is over I sit down for the night and that's it.  So this weekend is going to be busy and will no doubt fly by.

Things should get back to normal after next week.  Our little Princess  mom has sent me some lovely photos of her, so I will hopefully share them with you over the weekend, as she is growing so fast.

Blog maintenance and cleaning.........

It's high time I did a bit of blog maintenance.  I need to sort out the side bars, sort out all the blog links at the top.  Just spruce it up a bit.  However I think that is a cold wet Fall days job, and as it is still hot and humid here it may be a few more weeks away yet.

How often do you tinker with your blog?

Also do you do Spring and back end/Fall cleaning around the house?  I don't, which is the complete opposite to the way I was brought up.  I remember us having both Summer and Winter curtains/drapes that had to be changed over, does anyone still do that?  As we don't have drapes on our windows just blinds in the bedrooms as no one can see in the house, there is no need to change anything.

I haven't cleaned the windows in ages as well.  Although a dear friend was saying it is better to have dirty windows as that way the birds don't fly in them.  I'm guessing then that this window is still not dirty enough, as the birds are forever flying into it!!

To the right of the window is an apple tree and my four legged friend was there the other morning eating the apples off it.  Talked to the wildlife control and other than shooting it, which I won't do we just have to play the waiting game and hope it wanders off to pastures new at some point.  Haven't seen it since Friday, so it must have been away on a weekend trip somewhere!!!

Off to work today, have a terrific Tuesday.

The blueberries are ready......

I have three blueberry bushes and for the first time since we have moved here, I actually have blueberries I can pick.  Ready to see how many?

There is a just under 3/4 cup of them.

So I looked up a a blueberry and raspberry muffin recipe and came up with this one  I went and picked some raspberries and will make muffins today, if I have time.

Is it just me, or do fresh picked blueberries taste so much better than the ones in the store?

Wanted to let you know that Molly is a hundred times better since I put her on the Benadryll.  Her skin has cleared up, her coat is so much more healthier and she isn't chewing her paws and herself as much now.  That's not to say her allergies have cleared up, they are not bothering her as much.

Short and sweet today, as was super busy at work on Tuesday so am tired.

Bits and bobs, plus the Royal Wedding.....

was pooped yesterday when I got home from work.  I had a terrible headache and the drive home was miserable with the rain and the fog.  So after supper other than doing a load of laundry I sat down in front of the tv and just vegged out.

Molly let me sleep until after 6:30am this morning, so I feel a bit better, plus my headache has gone.

Have a few things to do today and one of them is to go into town to get my hair cut.  The girl who cut it last time did a poor job and I don't like it.  It's my own fault, as I refuse to pay full price at a regular hairdressers and go to a discount chain place, so I guess its a case of you get what you pay for.  Anyhow one side of my hair is pouffy and it is driving me potty. 

While in town though I have to get gas for the car and call in at an upholstery place to see about getting the window seat cushion made, as I want it all piped etc, and I know I am not skilled enough to do a professional looking job.

The daily poll question on Swagbucks this morning, was will you be watching the Royal Wedding.  Now this is a USA based company and 50% of the people answered no.  I find the people in the States are not "into" the Royal family as much as we are in Canada, which I find interesting.  I of course will be up at the crack of dawn to watch it.  I am thinking around 4:30 am will be soon enough.  Not sure which channel though will be the best coverage?  Any ideas?

Busy day at work on Monday......

Which is the way I like it, BUT I was pooped by the end of the day.

It was bitter cold here again on Monday and it was funny to see all the folks around my area with all their fires on as you could see all the smoke coming out of the chimneys.  Dh said ours was barely "alive" by the time he got home, as the wood I put on it when I left for work at 7:45 am was not dense wood, it felt a bit light, so burned up sooner than it should have.

Something sort of funny happened at work, actually it's more sad than funny.......I went into work, sat down and logged into the computer with all the correct passwords just like that.  I then went onto a dealer website to pull up some info for the guys and again popped in the passwords just like that.  I go to the bank to do the deposit and forgot the deposit card!!  So how is it I can remember passwords that I haven't used or thought of in months, but forget the bank deposit card? 

A customer rang and I hadn't talked to him in probably over a year and I remembered his name right off..........but when I was writing Christmas cards this last year, I couldn't for the life of me remember my cousin's daughter's name?

It's funny what information we manage to retain isn't it?

I am back at work today as there is "stuff" to do.  Oh for lunch yesterday I took a container of Kraft Dinner that you microwave. 

Kraft Dinner to me is a treat as I never buy it as I make my own mac and cheese.  I must say I wasn't overly impressed with it, as it tasted a little too buttery to me......I know strange.  Mind you it was a perfect size and it was filling and warm on a cold day.  I think I paid 99 cents for it which wasn't too bad.

Also had to laugh at Linda who I am covering for while she basks in the sun in Cuba.......lucky duck.  She left me instructions on how to make the coffee, as she knows if she doesn't I WILL NOT make coffee for the guys............why because I generally don't drink it...........oh, and I make terrible coffee........which is all very convenient don't you think....LOL 

So think of me on Tuesday, slaving away at the computer.......and no I won't have time to check my blog, or my email or make personal calls.............or will I???

BLAST, I MEANT TO POST THIS FOR TUESDAY AND I FORGOT TO SCHEDULE IT AND JUST PRESSED ENTER.........I SWEAR I AM GETTING MORE AND MORE SENILE BY THE MINUTE!!

Must say I would be very tempted to make Friday's cookie. "Giada's Lemon Ricotta Cookies with Lemon Glaze."  I love anything lemon, so will have to try and remember to buy a tub of ricotta when I am out grocery shopping.  It's not something I buy very often, ricotta cheese.  Do you use ricotta cheese a lot in your household?

Well I survived my second day at work.  I enjoyed it as I was busy in the afternoon doing some filing and sorting out some paperwork.  It's funny how I only go into work a couple of times a year, but within a couple of hours I have picked it all back up again.  Which is handy for my boss, as at least he doesn't have to re-train me on everything whenever I go in.  Mind you he was showing me a couple of things in the morning, as with each version of the accounting software they make some changes.

Have you seen in the news what is happening in Britain and parts of Europe with the horrible weather they have been having.  The poor folks in Buffalo got a real "dumping" of snow.  If you're in Buffalo, I'm sorry you got hit, but I am glad it stopped on your side of the lake and didn't pop over to our side!! 

There is snow north of us, as I saw a number of cars going south when I was heading home covered in snow.  Hoping it will stay north of us!!
