I thought I'd give you a heads up on this, but during the month of February I am going to put one item a day that I do not use or need into a garbage bag, and at the end of the month I will donate all items.
Some things to donate would be clothing from your closet. Shoes, hats, belts.
Books, puzzles, games, toys.
From your kitchen, extra dishes, cups, cutlery. Extra pictures, ornaments etc.
Extra craft supplies, like balls of wool, bags of notions.
Sheets, blankets and towels from your linen closet to give to the animal shelter.
Or you could put one item of food in a box each day for the month to donate to the food bank. Even packages of pasta, ramen or a tin of soup each day would be a help and not too expensive. Buying things on special would be a good way of adding too your box also.
I will give you another head's up closer to the end of the month, then during February I will post each day with what I have put into my bag.
Getting rid of 28 things in our house, would be helpful too kick start a Spring of decluttering.
Also for those Type A personalities; you know who you are....LOL You could do a bag of things to donate and a box of food to donate.........
Is this something that interests you? Do you have any other ideas of what to donate and/or to whom?
(P.S. giving you this heads, up will also give you a head start on gathering things together!!)

This is such a good thing to do. In the past I have done this in the spring for the 40 days of Lent- instead of Giving Up something, I have been Giving Away. God bless your generosity
This is a good idea. In year ?I put a food item a day in a box between Thanksgiving and Christmas as part of a promotion from our local food pantry. It was because their donations fall off after Christmas. I might try that again.
Great idea! I need to do this in just my sewing room much less the rest of our place.
You all have wonderful ideas! I declutter my house twice a year. In January I do all my closets. In July I did another quick declutter. I have already filled several boxes of items. I will donate them to our local animal shelter thrift shop. It's amazing how much stuff you find. I don't consider myself much of a shopper.
I'm already dong something siilar. Every time I go to the basement -- whether it is to carry down Christmas or something else, I bring up a tote bag of donations -- or at least a few things. So far I've filled two bags with clothes and then more to come. Upstairs books are being sorted for resale and donation. hat's a lot harder!
I've already started! It's amazing what can be done in 15 minutes a day. Clearing that pile of magazines. Getting rid of the socks with a hole. Deciding that the black eyeliner that didn't work the last time you used it really can be let go.
I think I might do the food one. That is something I have done before and since donations fall down over the new year at our food bank is something that will be very welcome.
God bless.
Already on it, lol I started over Christmas and have already donated a bag to charity and sold quite a few things on Vinted. Hopefully there will be less of the things we don't use around by the end of the year.
