Drat.............

I hope this isn't going to be any indication of how 2026 is going to be moving forward.........

My dryer is on the fritz.  It's an LG dryer and I have had it around 7 years.  I have always had good luck with LG appliances, but this dryer has already had multiple electronic boards replaced, and it looks as though they have gone again.  So I may be on the lookout for a new dryer.  I don't expect to see much change out of $1,100 (13 % tax included )

I do like a glass door on it, otherwise no other preferences.  I know it would be cheaper to go without a dryer and just hang to dry in the house, but I am at a stage where "the easier, the better," is the way to go!

I was told to stay well away from Samsung, but if anyone has any recommendations I am all ears.......

Seven years - talk about built-in obsolesence!! Sorry I can't be of any help with appliance brands because we live in an apartment and have to use whatever they put in the laundry room. We haven't used the dryers in years and instead hang everything to dry. We have a rod over our bathtub and use hangers and good ol' fashioned wooden clothespegs.

My dryer is old, old, old, and I continue nursing it along because it was built before computer components.

My mom stays away from Samsung AND LG - :/! Maybe a GE or something else? We have so few options now too, since there's no more Sears. My washer now is front loading but has no soak option, which I really miss :'(

Ugh, I'm sorry. Appliances are crap anymore.
Yeah, stay away from Samsung. Been there, done that, never again.
Went with Maytag, since my folks always thought it was a good brand. Washer had problems from the beginning, but it was under warranty, but still annoying. But the dryer...I didn't think it was sounded right, so opened the door, and it looked like the portal to hell, glowing red. Heating element, thermostat, sensors bad.
So I have no suggestions. Good luck!

The appliance brands you have access to could be different to ours here in the UK ... I wish you good luck in your search for a new dryer.

All the best Jan

I sound really old, but I don't think they are made as well as they used to be. Now it seems it's usually just cheaper to buy a new one than mend it.
There are times we've gone without a dryer. In the summer it's fine, but it always seems to be the winter when it goes out. When I first got here I thought I'd still put the washing outside to dry only to realise it would freeze lol.

My frigidaire dryer is 22 years old and cherished. Moved to BC and back to Alberta. The matching washer gave up the ghost aged ten.

Had an LG that lasted around 8 years.

Wound up buying a Maytag toploader this summer.

Our stove is a Samsung and I wouldn't buy Samsung again.

I was told by a repairman to go with Whirlpool which also makes other brands such as Kenmore.. told to definitely stay away from LG and Samsung

I have a Samsung fridge that is 5 years old and love it. Works great. Now my brand new Frigidaire stove/range is not working correctly and we haven't even had that a year. My washer is a Maytag, the dishwasher is a Whirlpool, and the dryer is a secondhand Kenmore that is close to 17 years old now.

God bless.

Wish I had a recommendation...we've had several and none of them seemed to have decent longevity. Sigh.

Do you have access to a used appliance store in Canada? Appliances are made badly nowadays and it is cheaper to go buy a used one now. They sometimes last longer than the new ones.

Absolutely drained................

On Tuesday I had a hair appointment for a trim.  Fair enough.  I have a love/hate relationship with hairdressers and I hate paying a lot for...
