I was sound asleep at 6:30 am when the telephone rang. It's right beside me, so picked it up and it was a voice recording telling me that someone was trying to use my credit card for an E-Bay transaction and an international transaction.
In my sleep induced stupor I thought "NOPE!" and hung up the bloody phone........by this point though my mind is now working overtime, as yes I had made an International purchase.......thank you Mark's and Spencer's for having a 20% off sale😁 However I never ever use E-Bay.
So I get up and call my credit card company to double check and everything is fine. I hate those stupid scam calls......
We do still have a home phone..........not sure for how long though........they will be a thing of the past no doubt before long! Do you have a home phone line?

Hate those calls! We still have a landline, my mum only has a landline so we keep it for that really. I can't tell you the last time i made a call on the landline though.
It has been about 3 years since I gave up my home phone. The only downside is, I cannot call my mobile phone when I misplace it at home:) However, cell phones are as bad about receiving scam calls, stupid commercials, junk messages and etc.
we gave up our home phone over a year ago. Both hubby and I have a work and personal phone and both boys have personal phones.
I do not.
We left Bell telephone. Two week without a phone line, you see.
We transferred our home phone # to a smart phone. This was a great move. Being retired, we don't really need a phone a lot of the time.
We haven't had a landline for about 6 years and I don't miss it at all. Unfortunately as others have said, we still get scam calls on our cell phones from time to time.
I wonder if that was a robo call. A number of people I know got the same call at the same time of morning. Dirty scamming @#$%&
Yep we still have a home phone even though we have cellphones. Have considered giving it up.
Ww still have a home phone. My Mom who has dementia can still remember this number so a long as she is able to phone I will keep the line.
I am a holdout and only have a landline! I am the original Luddite. However, it is only a matter of time until I am forced to give in. I hate to be at the beck and call of everyone and his brother so screen my calls and only answer the phone if I recognize the name/number. If it is important they will leave me a message and I will get back to them, or not!
Gave it up about a year ago. No one ever bothered to call it or other scam and marketers. Love not coming home to that flashing light.
Yes still have a landline, it's expensive & we hardly use it but need it for the Wi fi. Also it's expensive for anyone who doesn't use a mobile to call mobiles.
BT seem to have managed to stop virtually all scam calls now & have never had a scam call or unwanted calls on my mobile as the BT scanner is on that too. No I'm not on commission!
No landline, use cell phone with way more options, like blocking those types of callers that you got early in the morning.
