Update on dh............

For those of you who are my friends on Facebook, you know the first part of this story.

On Sunday dh was cleaning out the flower beds on top of the retaining walls ready for us to mulch it all.  We have decided it's easier doing this than me constantly asking the gardeners to weed them.  The wall is close to four feet tall.  Normal people would use a ladder to go up and down, but not my dh.  On his way down he tripped over his feet and fell from the top of the wall.  He fell on his left side and did the most damage to his arm and wrist:

Fast forward to Wednesday and I have been putting an antiseptic cream, gauze and bandage over it for when he is at work and overnight and despite that it was weeping yellow pus.  Plus his hand was so swollen that you could barely see his knuckles.  So he went to the doctors and got some antibiotics for the swelling and pus and had an x-ray on his hand.  Pleased to say it is not fractured and just very swollen.

Hopefully he has learned from this!

Beautiful sky when we were out and about.

Oh your poor husband. I hope he heals very quickly. I had nasty sores from the medications and tape used on me during my surgery. I use an antibiotic ointment and kept the areas covered and they healed fairly quickly, I will keep him my prayers.
Blessings,
Betayw

Goodness me, that looks sore. I would let him have a few whinges in between telling him off though. Must keep these helpful types onside.

Hope your dh is well again soon. Mine tripped over in the garden last week and scraped his knee. That has healed quickly - but he seriously ripped his NEW trousers! Why was it not his old jeans? Summer blessings x

So sorry for his accident. Hopefully it will heal nicely now that he is on medicine.

Oh! That looks sore. I hope he gets some relief soon. A few years ago my Dhaka ran over my foot with the car. (It's a long story, which I won't go into now). Anyway, the wound looked similar to your picture, only on my foot so I couldn't wear a shoe for weeks. It didn't look too bad, just a nasty scrape like your dh's. However it went septic just like his and I found myself going to the doctor'so every day for a couple of weeks. Keep vigilant with it and if it's still sore when the antibiotics are finished, do go back. Good luck.

Ouch, that looks painful! But it's amazing how quickly it will turn into a very attractive scab! Beautiful skies indeed.

Oh no! I'm glad you took him to the doctor. That looks very painful and I bet it will take a while to heal.

Ouch, that hurts! He's lucky he wasn't hurt worse than that. He's probably miserable at work too, poor thing. Hope he heals quickly.

I do hope he heals quickly, but if he is like my husband, I am not betting that he has learned anything from this.

Thank goodness nothing broken! Do you think he learned his lesson. If he is like my husband I would say probably not. They think they are invincible -- like little boys. You need to keep a close eye on him!

Glad the hubs is ok! He sounds like my hubby "I don't need no stinkin' ladder"

Oh so sorry Gill. That so sounds like something my husband would do too! Hope dh is better soon.

I'm glad that he went and had it checked out. The minute that it started weeping, I would have had him in the dr.
Stay safe and dh!

Ouch! I've taken scrapes like that, and it's no fun at all.

Oh my! Looks painful. Thankfully nothing broken. My hubby fell yesterday and smashed his face into concrete. Long story...playing with his granddaughters and tripped and fell. Broke his glasses and has a swollen black eye.
Have they learned anything from this?....doubtful here.

Poor man. What happened to him is so similar to what I did last May when I backed off a bench and landed on concrete breaking my wrist. Unlike your DH I had no scraped skin at least and no infection. I hope he heals quickly now that he's on antibiotics.
