it's just been a quiet week due to the hot and humid weather. I have been hibernating so nothing much has been happening. We had some nasty weather go through yesterday and last night. No damage on our property, but a lot of damage was done close to where we used to live. At least now with all the rain yesterday the grass has had a good water. We are not happy with the way they are watering the grass. We do have a sprinkler system, but it is controlled by the "sprinkler people." We are also not allowed to water our grass............less said about this the better...LOL
Sad news from Britain, a beloved entertainer, Cilla Black passed away; she was only 72:
I love this song which I heard on an advertisement. It is also a pretty neat video with a great message it is well worth watching:
And finally Our Little Munchkin may be a soccer player much to her Granddad's delight as he is a big football/soccer fan.

It has been a hot and humid week. Glad it has finally cooled off. Glad you had no damage from the storm. Little munchkin looks like a pro! Cute.
Sprinkler People! Huh! They wont let you water! Are you on restrictions through lack of water
LOVE the photo of your soccer player! Yep, the weather has been perfect for hibernating.
We had that huge storm too, lots of rain here and we still have our hydro but lots around us don't. Hope the weather cools down a bit now. We had just watched the series about Cilla Black's life last June.
Oh it is good weather to hibernate or in my case hay:) Little munchkin is indeed going to be a soccer player:) Hug B
I am sure glad to see a post from you...I was afraid someone was sick. (Can you believe Lorelei is sick after 3 days of school???)
Your Munchkin looks like she is already a great soccer player! This is an adorable picture.
I did like the song!
Our summer arrived yesterday, we are thrilled. 31 degrees, sun, shorts, sandals, yay us.
Lovely shot of the wee one.

I was shocked to see that Cilla died...and I love that song!
Have you seen the Cilla movie (Cilla played by Sheridan Smith)?

Gosh Gill, you have sprinkler regulations too? Back home on the West Coast it's been devastatingly dry. I don't understand the weather these days. By the way, our sprinkler police is pretty brutal in Van. In contrast, here at home in OXON, it's been the normal, chilly, humid British summer we both probably know and...er...love?
Sad news about Cilla Black, BBC news was busy reporting all morning and last night's BBC radio 2, Claire Teal was playing a lot of her songs. So young, huh? I mean, these days, I would hope that mid 80's (like my mother) would still be healthy and young.
Well, running around after your little munchkin will surely keep everyone young. Big hugs.
The toddler is adorable! Sometimes a break is necessary, especially when it is hot!
Love your soccer player. We've had very hot weather too. Thank goodness we don't have the humidity added to it. It was 103F both Saturday and Sunday. It is supposed to cool off a bit this week and I'm sure hoping the weather people are right.
Blessings,
Betsy
I wondered where you were hiding :-)
Sad news about Cilla, funny because I only said to my DH last week that she hadn't been on tv lately.
Sad day when we heard about Cilla.
xx
That must be awful not being able to water the lawns & gardens. Hope they survive, the grass usually recovers.
Sad about Cilla. She was one of the people you thought would go on until her nineties like Thora Hird, a great trouper. I loved her version of Alfie. She didn't have the best of voices but it was distinctive & she could put over a song really well. We'll all miss her infectious laugh & cheery grin.
Adorable little man, he is going to be a start. Sad news indeed about Cilla Black, I was indeed a great fan.
It's hot here to , to hot for our garden!
And another storm right now!
Yes, it's been a little too hot to get too much done this week. It's cooler today after that much needed rain and i feel much more energetic.
The rain and storms seemed to skirt right around us. We did have some light showers on and off all night, but I still had to water the tomatoes and beans tonight.
Adorable little soccer player...start them young! We are big soccer fans...it was very new to us 30 years ago when we started our kids playing and got very involved in youth leagues. Soccer has come along ways in the USA since.
I am just amazed that you can't sprinkle when you want.
She might be a tad too young for the nest womens world cup but she's on the way. Sad news on Cilla Black, I've always had a lot of time for her as a singer and as a person.
Strangely most of that weather seemed to miss us.
It's been cold, wet and windy here. We have been getting arctic blasts and snow in lots of places that normally don't get any.
But I'd sooner that, than hot and humid. Can't do anything in that kind of weather. So I'll keep both my fires going and send you some cool thoughts xx
