I think we all have our own special place where we go to think and solve all the worlds problems. Some people have a comfy chair, other people walk a special route; laying in bed are some people's preferred choice, Me, well this is my special place:
The shower, I can put the world to right and solve any issue in the shower. Been doing this for years. When I was working I came up with more ideas and solutions than ever when I was in the shower. Not sure what it is about the shower, but it relaxes me, and when it does my brain must start working...LOL
What made me think of this post, was I was thinking about the other day when we had our little Munchkin over. Dh went to the toilet and Munchkin went to find him. She can reach the door handle but cannot open the door yet, so was banging on the door for him. I do not miss those days when you could never use the bathroom without having company joining you.
So today's question is: Where is your special place that you go to solve the world's problems?
Finally a pop of colour for Wednesday:
For the non-quilters out there, the photo shows me stitching the binding on the quilt. For the quilters out there, no I did not lose the plot putting bright green binding on it....LOL It all makes sense, trust me!

In the summer I go outside and start weeding or cleaning something. In the house I start cleaning something. Or I eat chocolate.
Can't wait to see the quilt when it's all finished!
Special place: That would be the tiny state park where we were married, but which had been our special place long before. It's Cataract State Park if you'd like to google it, it's a lovely wee place.
Hi Gill, thank you for following my blog! Well, I don't know where my special place is, I suppose I have to think about this....
mine is my office at work, only place that is just for "me" except my car which is my second preferred place.
Gardening certainly helps me. But being outdoors enjoying photography is the most special place of all, especially if I'm near the water.
When I'm meant to be asleep is when I arrive at solutions.

For me it's the home office/sewing/spinning room. It's small but it's got all my favourite stuff in it!
My bed is my special place, thinking relaxes me so I can fall asleep. Also in the morning, as I am a person that cannot jump out of bed as soon as my eyes are open, so I lay there for 15 minutes or so, mulling things over. Incidentally a lot of my quilting idea's come from these moments of thinking.
Why not a bright green, I think it looks great.
I get the feeling from your post, you are well on the mend.

My quiet place is the bathtub. I could spend hours in a tub of hot water, some candles and many bubbles.
My special place is my bed.... I can curl up there, with my hubby downstairs with the kids and just solve the whole world's problems...LOL....
My happy place isn't even in the same country! It is in Iceland ~ over many years I have learned to zone out and take myself there mentally. I do find going out into the garden to sit or work is a very close second, as is walking in the Welsh countryside.

Being outdoors with my Miggs and nature or in my gardens in the summers or a nice walk through our valley and woods with my Miggs ! That's my special and favorite thinking place .
Mine used to be the bathtub. I'd just shut the door and soak for 20-30 minutes. For some reason, the past year, DH has decided it's not my "me" time. He wants to come in and talk and annoy me. I'm like "just get out!" and then he wants to stand there and argue with me about it. So, honestly I haven't even gone in to take a bath in months. I just take an extra couple of minutes in the hot shower :)
The quilt is coming along well!
Gosh, my special place? Hmmm. Usually anywhere I can take my camera. :)
I don't think I have a special place to solve things, unless I had a place close by to go fishing. It is the one thing that helps me let go of everything that is worrying me.
Can't wait to see the quilt.
For me it's going out for a walk, or a hike. It clears the mind.
Loving the colours in the quilt!
I don't have a special place as such, I do a lot of thinking and planning while i'm ironing, i find ironing quite therapeutic, lol.
Oh i remember the days of not being able to go to the loo or have a both without little interruptions, lol nothings changed really, i was in the shower the other day when 2 of my daughters came round and sat in the bathroom talking while i was at my ablutions lol
I think the bright green will go beautifully!
Looking forward to your film blog post tomorrow.
My special place is Greenwich in London where I just sigh and say 'I'm home'. But I put the world to rights when I'm either driving or that time when I am about to drift off to sleep. One day when I have my book lined library with a stunning view across a well kept lawn and mountains in the distance... that will be my special place... one day! (I'll stop dreaming now!) x
LOVE a pop of color!!!! I don't have a special place to go unless it's my sewing machine, but even then... It's the dining room...

Since I can't get out on the river side trails right now I'd say my favourite spot is my newly redecorated TV room in the basement. I am really enjoying my electric fireplace and smart TV. I would prefer to be hiking outside but that'll have to wait a little longer.
The shower is certainly the place to think and forget the rest of the world.
Your quilt is lovely. I have many places I go to ponder life's questions. The bathtub filled with bubbles and in the spring and summer and fall--the garden calls me to escape. ♥
Gill, I also love the shower, and my second place would be sitting in my recliner listening to some soothing music (sounds of nature or just gentle instrumental music, especially the pan flute, harp or piano).
I spent many a day after a hospital visit in the bath crying. It was the one place I couod let go and release. But for everything else I go into my craft room
