There I've said it. Why am I telling you this, well I went grocery shopping on Friday and bought dh a treat, Brussels sprouts in butter sauce.....icky, icky, icky!!!
For 88 cents they were a deal and just enough for dh on his own!!!
I also bought 10 lbs of carrots for $1.88, so made a double batch of carrot soup; some for us and some for dd.
Carrot Soup recipe here, it was the first recipe I posted on the blog.
No Frills also had peanut butter on sale for $3.88. I do not like peanut butter either, unless it is mixed in with something. How about you do you like peanut butter?
Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe here.
They also had Duncan Hines cake mixes and frosting on sale. The cake mixes are 2 for $1.88 and the frosting is 2 for $2.88. So I picked up some of those and made this cupcakes with the Spice cake mix and topped with the cream cheese frosting. They are good, and I sprinkled pumpkin pie spice on top of the frosting. I was looking at the Duncan Hines website and they have some good recipes on there. Some I may make for the baby shower. I liked this one and this one.
Finally a view from our family room window.
Enjoy your Saturday.....

I didn't like Brussel Sprouts either, but one christmas I found a recipe for brussels and bacon - even the kids asked for seconds! And recently I've been eating a salad made of raw shredded brussels, chopped apple, diced cheese and crushed almonds, mixed with thyme and olive oil. Delicious.
Brussel Sprouts.....yuck! Even worse the smell....
You must have been happy to find out that Brussels sprouts are not part of Christmas dinner in Canada :)
A big no on Brussels......an even bigger yes on peanut butter.....love it any way possible!! Probably my best recipe is for spicy noodles...peanut butter is in the sauce....mmmmmmmmmmmmm
Gotta loves those 88s on sale this week. I'm a brussel sprout lover and so is hubby.
You must be British....hate peanut butter!
You made some good dishes there with your great buys. I like seeing this, it is encouraging. Brussel sprouts need to be fresh or I hate them too.
I love Brussels sprouts, but just as is! My oldest dd LOVES the brocolli & cauliflower green giant veggies in cheese sauce... She'd eat them 3x a day! lol!
A big YES to brussel sprouts but only prepared in this way.
First steam the buggers, while you are waiting saute some onions and bacon, garlic too if you choose, when bacon is cooked to your liking throw in steamed brussels and mix it all together, the fat from the bacon and sauteed onions make the little cabbages taste divine...Well...in my opinion :)
We dont' eat peanut butter at our house, we prefer almond butter :)
I tried brussel sprouts one time and have never had the nerve to try them again...funny how they can be so cute but taste so awful!
Have fun today!

PS.

Brussels Sprouts- I can eat a few.
Peanut butter is always good love the carrot recipe and the cakes look divine.
Brussels Sprouts like Mushrooms and cooked Spinach should be outlawed! LOL! Nasty things. How anyone can enjoy eating a veggie that looks like a giant ball of snot is beyond me, lol!
Not a fan of Peanut butter, either. I feel like I have to excavate my mouth after every mouthful.....yeuck! It's like Marmite, you either love it or hate it, lol! I love Marmite. ;)

I hate brussel sprouts too but hubby loves them so I buy the exact same little packages when they go on sale for $1 or less. I have never seen them here for 88 cents. Great deal
Steamed Brussels Sprouts, lightly mashed with a fork on your plate and covered with a dollop of butter and tomato sauce - yummo!
Hot buttered wholegrain toast smeared with a layer of peanut butter that melds in with the warm butter for breakfast - Yummo!
I haven't tried this but I saw a recipe for roasted Brussels sprouts - in a roasting pan toss fresh sprouts with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, roast until tender. Apparently they are really good!
I actual like Brussels Sprouts.
Coffee is on.
You should try that recipe with bacon - it's scrumptious. Also, just drizzled with oil, cut in half and roasted in the oven. Mmmmm.
I havent found a way to cook Brussels sprouts that I like eithter but love the peanut butter cookies and cupcakes!
What a shame. I do like brussel sprouts. In the Finnish language they are called little cabbage. Peanut butter cookies are good too.
I love those sprouts! Out west, the cheapest they ever are is $1 a box.
I've a stash put away for Christmas. The only time everyone actually eats them!
