"Imagine the sinking feeling of logging in to your Gmail account and finding it empty. That’s what happened to 0.02% of Gmail users yesterday, and we’re very sorry. The good news is that email was never lost and we’ve restored access for many of those affected. Though it may take longer than we originally expected, we're making good progress and things should be back to normal for everyone soon"
That is part of the message on the Gmail blog, here is the rest of the message
Well that's what happened to my account and is still happening to my email account. I haven't had access to my main email account which happens to be a Gmail account since Sunday. Yesterday I got a message that my blog had been deleted.
Obviously they re-instated my blog last night again. All I could think of was how much work I had put into this blog and poof it was all gone.........so you can imagine my relief when I found it back online.
Now for them to fix my email account. I had hoped it would be back up and running this morning but not yet. So fingers toes and everything else crossed that normal service will resume shortly.
The sad thing in all of this, is how much I rely on the flipping computer.......for those of you who regularly contact me through email (Cheryl) keep checking in here for updates. I am also on Facebook just search for me through my name.
I am a British born, living in Canada since May of 1989. My blog is about all aspects of my daily life.

i was lost without you yesterday gill! glad you're back and hope your email gets sorted quickly. i had sent you a message on frugal shopper re: the blog being offline, did not know you were on facebook as well.
Gill,
So glad to hear all is well - I was a little worried - when I checked your blog yesterday morning, only to read it had been deleted, I was stunned - and glad it is nothing with your computer...only a little time lost no $...I'll talk to you soon...
what a relief to have your blog back...it makes you wonderful if you shouldn't set up a "back up" copy of your blog somewhere...I would be soo sad if my blog were to disappear!
Well, welcome back, and here's to no more techy problems from google!
Thank goodness your back...I freaked when I saw your blog gone...I thought OMG what is she going to do!
I checked in to your blog yesterday and was surprised to find it dleted, and I know you would have never done that purposefully, so I'm glad to see you back on line today.
I know one or two who had the same experience but their email is back again. As for your blog, may I suggest that you save the template. I saved all mine although I confess that right now I can't remember how ... the Google help page will explain. It was easy to do. I'll also look into it as there's one of the blogs that's new and unsaved.
Can you open another g-mail account until yours is fixed. I have two and thankfully I've had no problems. Hope it can get rectified though. And certainly glad your blog isn't gone. Hugs
OK ready: here's how to save your template.
You can save your template in blogger by click on "save template" button at thhe bottom of the "EDIT HTML" page.
Note : It will wipe out all the code that you done early, in other words it will save it 'as is'
Go to your dashboard, then into section marked Edit HTML. At the foot of that page it says SAVE TEMPLATE. Click the button. Then highlight the HTML code and copy and paste to a document, which you then rename and save in case you ever need it.
Hope this is clear. Good luck.
Incidentally, my gmail has gone! Fortunately I use another email addy.
.
I wondered what had happened. I checked in only to be told that you were gone.
Glad your back
I must not have fully read your post yesterday...I did not realize you had lost your blog as well. I am not sure how I would handle it if I came in and mine was gone...really gives us something to think about.
You officially worried everyone on PH! I'm soooo glad your blog is still here. I've been reading for several months now.
I even asked about you at Prairie Homemaker. Thought something happened to you, glad your back. Cheryl
Oh, my gosh! That totally sucks!!! I hope they fix the problem soon! I would lose it if my e-mail and blog got deleted too. I know how you feel about being dependent on the computer, I'm that way too especially with my Sweetheart living far away and my best friend living overseas! I can't imagine what it would be like if part of my family was overseas!
I panicked when i couldn't access your blog!
