Where I bought it from they were having a 25% off sale which was a bonus. Also the couple were very helpful and showed me some pointers on what to look for when buying Carnival Glass.
While I was there I also saw this vase its Cranberry Glass and very delicate. Where I have it placed is where the old window of the house would have been. It's been shelved and opens onto the family room/the "new" extension on the old house.
I was looking on e-bay to see if I could see something similar and this was the closest I came to mine.
You know how it is when you buy something but are not 100% sure if it was a good buy or not. Pleased to say I think I got a fair deal on both of the items, despite me only having enough birthday money to buy the Carnival Glass.
Thanks to both sets of parents for buying it for me!!!!
By the way is it just me or is the month of March just flying by?
Dd sent an email to the Bridal store, we'll see what happens............

March has flown by here too. Guess what...30 cms of snow is coming our way tonight and tomorrow!!!! Hugs
Agreee...March is very speedy.
Your carnival glass bowl is lovely. A nice gift for you that will keep you busy building that collection.
My mum collected cranberry glass for years...I have only one vase left...I have no idea what she did with the rest. She also collected a glassware called Cornflower. I have tons of it!
That glass is lovely. Enjoy it.
My Mam used to have a milk jug and sugar bowl in cranberry she inherited it from her Mam. I suspect my sister liberated it after Mam died. It just disappeared.
I've stopped collecting anything. My daughter said we had so much stuff she didn't know what she would do with it when we popped our clogs!
A very good buy indeed, they are both lovely pieces.
The characters on the cake are Disney Puffles. I was baffled too as I had never heard of them. Seems they're a hot item if you are 6 these days. They only each wanted one of the Puffles and not the cake. She also received several Puffle dolls(?)
A very pretty pink vase. It is so delicate. My cat would make a beeline for it, I'm sure.
How exciting that you are starting a collection. Can't wait to see what you buy as you add to it.
Beautiful glass pieces. I inherited a love of old glass from my mother. Actually like some new pieces too!
ps-Wanted to say thank you for 2 things: 1-your daily savings club you explained in 2009 and 2-introducing me to John Gray of Going Gently. Both true gold!
