Me and my girls........

Our Little Munchkin and her boyfriend Owen, who is 14 months old.
Our little Munchkin eating a banana, this was the after picture.  By the way those two bottom teeth are razor sharp; how do I know, she sunk her teeth into my foot, just because I wasn't paying enough attention to her the other day!
Me and my girls on Saturday.  I take a dreadful photo this was the best of the bunch.......
We had a mini housewarming party and we were gifted 8 gorgeous water glasses and 4 red wine and 4 white wine glasses by the family.

Dd house warming gift and a recipe....

Dd and son-in-law close on their house this week.  They are living on the 21st floor of a condo and are moving to a detached house with a garden.

We are lending them our push lawn mower, as there isn't that much grass to cut and I got them the following gardening equipment:

Now truth be told they would have preferred a barbecue, but overall this is more practical as they have no gardening tools.  We are lending them our old pine dining room table and I picked up four chairs for $10, a real steal, that will do until they can afford a new set, plus we have picked up bits and bobs for them.

I will be posting photos in the coming weeks of all the work we will be helping them with at their new house.

We had the family up for lunch on Sunday and as ham was on sale at Foodland for $1.47per pound, I bought one.
I didn't want to put the oven on so I decided to cook it in the crockpot/slow cooker.

Super simple to do; put 1 cup of brown sugar in the crockpot.
Place ham on top and using hands pat in another 1/2 to 1 cup of brown sugar.
As my ham was to tall for my bowl, I covered the top with tin foil to keep the heat in and cooked it on low for around 5 hours.
It was really, good and super moist.  We had it with Greek Salad and roasted potatoes I had cooked on the barbecue.
We will be eating ham for a few days this week, as there is plenty left.

I guess you could also smother some mustard on the top of the ham when cooking, as that would be tasty.  If your ham is not precooked like mine was you will have to adjust your cooking times.

A quiet Saturday.....

Dh was off work on Saturday, which was nice.  Unfortunately he has hurt his knee, so he's hobbling at the moment.  Dh is one of these people who doesn't like to sit down doing nothing, so I had to force him to sit and watch British soccer on tv on Saturday morning to rest up his knee.  He has to work on Sunday so I figured a few hours not doing anything would help his knee.

We went to Tim Hortons for lunch then on to Cookstown Outlet Mall, as we are going to a housewarming party and I wanted to get a gift.  We ended up with this Corning ware set, which I thought was useful, as you can't have enough serving dishes.

Oh and Molly, well she was chewing a raw hide bone on BOTH sides of her mouth, which  makes me question the whole broken tooth thing; as I didn't really see it, and Molly won't let me look in her mouth.  So I am going to call the vet's on Monday to talk to her.

I was looking through a couple of old posts and happened upon this one brought back great memories for me.

While I was typing this I heard the snap of the mouse trap, so two mice caught today :0(  I have to say the traps I use work well:

I find peanut butter works a treat for attracting them.  I keep a separate jar of peanut butter in the fridge especially for the mice.

New Bird Feeder

When my mother came over in the summer, she brought over this bird feeder in the shape of a British telephone box.  The only problem with it...
