Look back on the week...............

We had a Civic holiday on Monday, so a quiet day around here.

We started sorting out some bits and bobs to put on Facebook Marketplace to sell.  Things we didn't want or need.  Hubby has a lot of duplicates when it comes to tools.  So earned a little money to put towards our vacation next month.

It's been hot and humid again, but did manage to get some work done in the garden on Tuesday.  Everything is dormant or dead due to the lack of rain.  Also managed to get some extra garbage disposed of this week, as our neighbours are away and they said we could put bags of garbage out on their driveway.  All in all that saved us taking probably another 60lbs of rotten wood to the dump.

Blood work had to be done this week for both me and hubby.  Ended up getting good results for me.  I have managed to lower my A1C down to 6.9.  September 2024 it was 7.9.  So slowly but surely I am getting there.  Still have a ways to go, but getting there.

Had the hydro inspector come round to inspect the new electrical panel ($200 later!!) hubby put in.  We are going to get a portable generator for when the hydro goes out and so we can run the sump pump in the basement.  Although we have a battery backup, we're terrified it fails and we end up with a flooded basement.  He praised hubby for his neat work; knew he was an electrician by trade.  So that pleased hubby.

Now watching Home Hardware's sale's flyer like a hawk; waiting for the generator we need to come on sale.

Did some sewing and sold some fabric I didn't need.  Haven't sewn in a while and it felt good.

Got back into posting on the blog, and thoroughly enjoying it.  Managed to get a few posts written up for the upcoming week as well, as we have a busy week ahead of us.

Meals we hit and miss this week, trying to change it up rather than eating salad and something every day.

I walked 5 out of 7 days and averaged nearly 7,000 steps per day.  I will talk about this another time, as I am having major problems with my feet.

All in all a very productive week for a change; and believe me they are few and far between nowadays!

How was your week?

You have been busy. That's great. It is hot 🔥 🥵 and humid here in Montreal and is supposed to get 😫 worse. I plan to do some cleaning and organizing indoors during those 4 or so days.

Well done on your step count, I rarely manage more than 6000, but I blame my dog, he only has little legs.

You are doing well on lowering your A1C. I’ve worked on mine the last few years too and lowered it as well. It’s been hit and humid here too and I’m looking forward to cooler weather as our tomatoes don’t grow in this heat. 7,000 steps average is great! It’s good to see you blogging again!

I always have good intentions to get more steps done every day, only walked 3 times this week. The heat and humidity has been my excuse.

Sounds like you have had a very productive week. Good to get rid of excess and make a few bucks in the process. I really need to tackle my sewing room again and see what I can live without but it's going to wait until the weather cools off. Our little balcony garden is struggling despite the RC carrying water out there multiple times each day. He finally cut down his tomatoes and his peppers because the tomatoes all had blossom end rot and there were only three little peppers on his two plants. Got to the point that it was just too much work for what little harvest (or none) that we would get. The herbs seem to be doing okay and he's been putting those in the freezer.

I have to say the bundles of fabric have been good sellers.

We're forecast for a couple of weeks of hot and humid weather so it will be coming to you also, as we are an hour + north of Toronto.

It sounds as though you've had a really productive week. Well done with the sorting and such. I haven't ventured into selling on Facebook marketplace but I've heard it can be quite good. It's been hot here again in Michigan. I am looking forward to (hopefully) cooler weather when I go to England next week. Hope you have a good week!

You have been very busy. My week hasn’t been that great.
I’ve spent days trying to work out how to keep my blogs, and be able to post pictures again.
I finally found an upgraded app.
I’m not that technically proficient so it’s been lots of jumping through hoops to finally get a result

Sewing..........

I was looking at where hubby sits and decided the flannel chair cover I made for him a couple of years ago was looking shabby.  We have a fa...
