Bit more of an incentive now........

to lose weight.  As we have booked a trip to Britain in September, so I want to get at least 10 lbs off before we go.  I have 40 days, give or take a day or two, so I need to get cracking.  I would love to get some new clothes from Marks and Spencer and Asda while we are there, and would love to buy them in a smaller size.........

So the best way for me to lose weight is by walking and eating correctly.  I managed to walk just over 96 miles on July, which isn't the best but it is better than nothing.  I didn't lose my 2 lbs like I mentioned the other day, but am 1 lb down from the other day.

Are you all still managing to walk during this heat?

Oh, back to Blighty! That will be wonderful - hopefully we'll have cooled down considerably by then. It's unbearable at the moment, despite a lovely deluge on Sunday. I've got to START walking this month. I won't be at your numbers, but even a half hour a day would be beneficial. I was talking about this with a colleague yesterday. Good luck with your goal - I'm sure you'll reach it! xx

Thankfully we are not having the high temperatures here on the Isle of Lewis. Have a wonderful trip.

I try to get out early every morning for a walk. It is much too hot in the afternoons to even try.

I need to lose some weight from my forced absence from exercising this winter. I have lost a bit and maintained that loss. Now to push beyond that.

God bless.

We are having a cooler week in the bay area, which is lovely. But, over the past few months when it's been crazy hot during the day, I unfortunately try to work out at 7 am or so. It's a pain, but just too hot otherwise. I hear you on the weight loss - it's an ongoing struggle!

I'm still walking as usual. I do carry a bottle for filling up with water through the day at this time of year.

For years, I longed to buy clothes at M&S. I was very disappointed when the time for us to travel happened. They just aren't to my taste anymore (the underpants are still pretty though). I also found them very expensive for what they are.

I'm heading to Pringles for knitwear in October.

Good going Gil with the miles you walked in July. You might look at the Weight Watchers app to lose weight. Three different people spoke to me about the app early Spring. After I dreamt about it in April I knew I needed to check it out. I have far more to lose but love the app. In USA it is $19.95 per month with no requirement to attend meetings. I find I am much more conscious of my food choices and really like that while grocery shopping I can scan barcodes for point info. When on vacation I can use some of the weekly allocated extra points for eating out. And if a food is not found I can add in nutrional info to determine points and/or add to the site. I do not work for WW but find it to be a sane & healthy way to eat & lose. I have lost 22 pounds. One can often find coupons on the web for the app. Keep up the walking! Sonja

As long as it’s going down then it’s good
I lost 20 kilos using the diet shakes
And I’ve kept it off
But yes you need to move it to lose it
Try swimming during the heat. An hour moving through the water is
Not a bad way to exercise in the heat
