"Gosh that was good, I really enjoyed it?"
I said that to myself last night, I did really enjoy my supper. It was nothing fancy just plain food but it really hit the spot as they say.
As you can see all I made was sausage rolls, coleslaw and a garden salad. I found a package of peaches in the freezer, so I made a peach and raspberry jam crisp. The original Apple Crisp recipe is here. The sausage rolls are just a package of sausages with the skin taken off and put between some puff pastry. Nothing exciting. Cooked both things in the oven for around 40 minutes at 375 oF.
There are enough sausage rolls and peach crisp for another meal. I am not following my menu plan to the letter this week, as I have switched days around, due to one reason or another.
Also we started to unpack those two boxes yesterday. Here is what we took out:
The packages on the breakfast bar also came with it.
Today is my first and apparently only knitting lesson. Wish me luck!

Good luck on your knitting lesson. Your dinner looks great. :)
Good luck! (Doubt you'll need it though.)
I've been promising the Great Scot sausage rolls forever, think they'll finally get done this weekend.
Sometimes the simplest food can be the most satisfying. That dessert looks good.
Good luck with the knitting, don't give up on it.
Would love to see some pics of your first projects.
I do hope the knitting lesson goes well! Fingers crossed for you. Do let us know afterwards...
looks delicious! good luck with the knitting lesson. looks like you are unpacking a stereo system?
Good luck for your lesson! When are you going to completely unpack the content of the two boxes? :)
It's those simple meals that come out the best sometimes! Good luck with your knitting. Don't stab anyone accidently with the needles :)
Easy and unexpected dinner treats always make us happy, Gill. And, leftovers are even a better so we usually plan to enjoy those at another meal. The peach crisp looks good😊
Do you know, actually yes, and it was sort of a sausage roll as well! I have long been serving up the same old same old and this weekend decided that I'd make something interesting to go with my fresh pot of carrot and coriander soup. I have a very old book inherited from my parents' clear-out that is The Archers' Cook Book, would you believe?! It has a lovely recipe for a sausage plait. Juicy, tasy, yum. Maybe I'll blog the recipe. I think you'd like it!
Hope your knitting lesson went well. Your meal looked very tasty, my favourite food is quite simple, and I would have loved your sausage rolls xx
A peach and raspberry jam crisp sounds really good.
Now that's my kind of supper . I love sausage rolls YUMMY ! I find the simplest suppers are the best ! Thanks for sharing Good luck on your knitting class I am sure you will do fine ! Have a good day !
Yes, tonight. It was a carbonara :)
Baking, knitting, good for you!
I've done neither. The former not lately, the latter not ever! Well, just once. I gave it up for Lent!
I've never had a sausage roll (I know, what's wrong with me??) but your meal looks delicious! When I make dinners like that, I wonder why we bother to eat out, then I see the dishes and I remember!! :-)
Hope your knitting class went well!
Love tasty simple food!
What are those packages?!
I hope that knitting turned out fun rather than frustration. You will definitely have to let us know how it turned out.
We quite often fix something and think how good it was. And it usually is plain cooking...or a pot of soup.
