Home of the Week

Busy day on Thursday as I cleaned out the fridge and freezer in the kitchen.

Before:

After:

This is what I had the throw out:
Made an inventory of what was in the freezer and sorted out what was in the fridge.  So a good job, jobbed!

Now this photo is for my own amusement.  For the first time in flipping ages, this was what was on our kitchen table............nothing other than the table runner and fruit bowl.  It's a very rare occasion when that is all that's sitting there, as if in doubt put it on the kitchen table until it gets put away.

This week's "Home of the Week," is not totally unpleasant, it's just not really my cup of tea.  I don't know that area at all but $2.4 million seems very pricey to me?  Also I don't like the look of the house from the outside.  From the front photo you're not sure what the other houses are like in the street, but the last photo confirms it's a modern house plopped into a road of traditional houses, I don't like that at all.  In it's favour the light coming into the house is lovely making it light and airy, but I do think I'll pass on this one.

I'm not really sure what to say about the "Condo of the Week?"  For $2 million, I would have thought there would have been a better view?  The building's amenities seem great but the condo itself left me wanting something more?I do love the floors and the kitchen, but the whole place lacked personality and warmth I think?  What do you think?

We have had some flipping cold weather, so thought this was appropriate!

It amazes me what some of these homes go for. I was just telling lena that I am perfectly content in my home now. We never thought this would be our forever home but it is now.

And I can't imagine the pressure of a home costing that much!

Both the homes seemed to me to lack warmth. They are just houses, no soul. I would always feels like I could not relax in them as they are like show pieces.

Yuukkkk to both, hate the outside of the first one, looks like a box with windows and whats with the bunk beds, settee and arm chairs in one room, either its a bedroom or a sitting room......

Don't like the decor in the seoond one and no outside space apart from one balcony, no thanks.

Afraid I am a traditionalist......love the clap board houses......

I would prefer an old rundown farm house in no mans land . Both are horrible . Good job with the fridge I did mine a week or two ago takes some time to empty wash down and put back doesn't it ! I live your kitchen table and area there , hey we have almost the same grandmother clock ours chimes ever hour and half hour I love clocks like that the tick tock of the pendulum is soothing got ours from an antique store it chimed to out to me to take her home . Going to be snowing here today . Stay cozy and have a good day !

Gosh the first one feels really clinical to me. No warmth, no personality, awful!
And second I think is just as bad.

Wheres the kiddies pictures on the fridge, the books/magazines, the hint of the residents personality. I think the people who live in these currently are definitely robots lol

My table is never, ever bare either!!!

Maybe for a few seconds when we clean it off for a meal when the kids are all here.

As for the HOme of the week..I would love to know what kind of personality lives in some of these. They just feel so sterile and business like. I for sure didn't like the front of it either...but didn't like the inside either.

The Condo..I liked the inside a bit better, but don't know why. And liked that the building had its own library. Just would not want to live there.

The fridge/freezer job is great. It can be a pain in the neck but the outcome is rewarding. Those houses are not for real. If I ever had that kind of money to spend, it wouldn;t be on those.

I love looking in other people's fridges/freezers/pantries out of sheer nosiness! Lots of things I don't recognise in yours. What is egg creations? X

Gill,
You did a very nice job of cleaning out your fridge with very little waste.
Love the looks of your table with the runner.

I don't know why any house needs 5 bathrooms. Just sayin'.

I'm impressed with how orderly your fridge looks!
