Home of the week and other things

My reaction to this weeks "Home of the Week," was I'll pass.  Just not my cup of tea at all.........

Where to start with this weeks $3.5 million "Condo of the Week."  I am actually speechless; I will be very interested in your reactions to it!!  Look at photo six to see the monogrammed valance?  Also the mirrored tub/bath????  You can even buy the place furnished...........WHY???

I am taking part in the 52 week challenge as mentioned here.  Figured out what we are going to do with the money saved at the end of the year.  We need a new desktop computer and printer, so fingers crossed we manage to complete the challenge as that money should cover that.  Now we need to figure out how to make our computer last until then.  We have had it a long time and it's a slow as molasses!!

It has turned cold again and we have had snow.  Got the oil tank filled this past week, we had used half a tank of oil between the middle of November through the middle of January, so it cost us just over $462.00.  The oil went up by 5 cents a litre since the middle of November.  Can't seem to win.  However we got our property tax statement in and at least that didn't go up, so that is a blessing.

Oh and Cindy has her post up with all the Ontario Bloggers that participated here: http://justnorthofwiarton.blogspot.ca/2013/01/ontario-bloggers-day.html

A very blah post today, goes with the weather.....

Well I don't know about you but there are some things I do not want to see reflected in mirrors when I get out the tub!!!!

Good job on only using half a tank. I know a lot of people who have gone through more than that.

That condo is utterly hideous! I'd prefer the house thank you, not that that's saying much! I do enjoy seeing them - thanks Gill. It's snowing like crazy here now....sigh.

Thanks for participating in the Ontario Blogger's Day, Gill. I am thinking it was a great success with meeting new ppl around our Province. Hoping the next one will be as good. I am pretty pumped about having the 52 weeks of money saved up by the end of the Year, hopefully towards a trip. Stay warm the January thaw is behind us now.

Throughout my married life we have gone from Early American furnishings (miserable to dust) to country French (now) and my thoughts have been wandering to modern more and more lately. The clean lines and uncluttered look are attractive too me -- not that I will ever have an uncluttered home. The home is a bit blah but, for me right now, it is sort of appealing. The condo -- yeah -- I couldn't handle all those drapes. I don't like drapes or carpet (allergies you know) so that wouldn't work for me. I am really not sure about a chandelier in the kitchen. Wait, yes I am, that would work for me either! So, I think the home wins over the condo, for sure!

The condo is awful, certainly not my cup of tea. People that decorate like that must have more money than they know what to do with.
I am quite happy with my little house.

I like the view and I like the size as it looks quite roomy. I worry however about just how many shiny surfaces are in there! Not good with my kiddies, I'd spend a fortune on Stardrops!

There's not one thing that says 'home' about either of them.

LOL :) The view from the apartment might be ok for a week, but I'd have spider webs decorating those chandeliers in no time! :D

Keep wrapped up warm with that snow about. We have about 10cm here in Dorset, but I'm not sure it'll be here in the morning, as it's very 'wet' snow (LOL) and is melting as it's settling. If that makes sense :D

I like the house of the week but the condo is just over the top ostentatious!

you are fortunate, a half tank of oil costs over 600 here.

I recently got awarded the Liebster Award. One of the rules is that you pass it on to eleven people who have blogs -- so I've sent it on to you. The post is here:

Congratulations on becoming a Nana and happy new year!!

The Condo is not wonderfully excessive decorated, but ghastly! The bathroom is claustrophobic. I thought the town house had a shower cubicle in the livingroom until I read it was the foyer!! The house looks like an office block.
