grass cutting season has started again.
I managed to get a little bit of grass cut. Bit of a wobbly start though as we had to go our and buy a new battery for the lawn tractor. Pleased to say with the new battery and the other maintenance dh did on the tractor it's running like new which is a good thing.
Our friends in town wanted us to take some of the Maple saplings from their garden, so we popped by and dug up four of them. They are really quite large:
I have them sat in a garbage can full of water until I get my soil delivered later in the week. I ordered 3 yards of triple mix on Sunday, at a cost of $192, with money I had saved in my loonie and toonie pot.
It's been a super busy weekend and this week isn't looking much quieter...oh well never mind. Can't believe it's the end of April already..........

Nice gift of the maple saplings, saved a bit there if you had to have bought them. The good weather just adds to every light of day being used up for me, this I am sure of ... now comes the rain I hear, so relax a bit before the nice weather again.
Yard work and mowing is back full time around here as well. If I get a handle on the inside then the outside is a mess, can't seem to have everything looking tidy at the same time.HA
The grass is getting longer...we still need to put the mower on the tractor...so the grass is going to be even longer.

The shower's today and the warmer temps foecast for later this week, will make the grass grow and we will be constantly mowing. Better than digging snow.
Hopefully, this rain will stop and allow me to get some much needed weeding done tomorrow.

Gill,
Very nice gift for your friends. I find tree's have really sky rocketed in price. I just purchase two apple tree's and a beautiful lemon bird magnolia tree. I over spent but I was gifted some gift cards and used them up quickly.
We also had to buy a new battery for the tractor. I found Walmart had the best prices and warranty.
Mowing has been started here for a while...in fact, our needs it again. But it is so rainy, going to be hard to get done this time. Lorelei just went home this afternoon...couldn't do it while she was here even though the weather was good.
Always takes me by surprise with the start of a new month. They always seem to go too fast.
We too have a riding lawn mower but when I was a younger my parents had a gas push more and one of my chore was to mow lawn.
I have to ask you the picture covered in shadow. What is that metal looking thing?
Well our grass needs mowed to put looks like it will rain off and on for whole week...coffee in on
