Book Review and Heinz Baked Beans............

"A Most Unsuitable Match," by Stephanie Grace Whitson

Miss Fannie Rousseau is a young woman of privilege traveling west to uncover the truth behind a family secret.

Mr. Samuel Beck is on a mission to atone for past failures that still haunt him.

Their meeting aboard a steamboat to Montana sparks an unlikely attraction. They are opposites in every way... except in how neither one can stop thinking about the other.

Will the end of the journey bring the end of their relationship, or is it just the beginning?

I have nothing but praise for this book.  I had to read the next page, as I had to know what was going to happen next.  The storyline kept you on your toes.  Fannie was a delightful lead character, though must admit she did a lot of fainting; I am guessing it must have had something to do with the corests she wore!!!

There were a couple of twists and turns in the story which I wasn't expecting.  I personally enjoy stories from this period of time and always learn something new.  This author is being added to my list of authors I must read more of, and when I popped by her website, I discovered she has written a lot of other neat sounding books.

For anyone who is interested, here is a link to Stephanie's website.

Stars out of 5: 5 a joy to read and one I would reccomend to you to either purchase or borrow from your local library.

There are certain things in life that I will not scrimp on by buying cheaper brands and Heinz Baked Beans is one.  I will say we were sort of confused by all the different flavours of Heinz Baked Beans over here.  I prefer the Original one the best.

The site has a number of recipes on it, I like this one for Cowboy Casserole.

When the kids were home, it had to be Heinz Ketchup as well.  Now as we go through very little ketchup I will buy whatever is on sale when I have ran out.  Luckily more often than not Heinz is on sale, as the kids especially dd whines if there is another brand in the fridge.  I found a link with a number of recipes that use ketchup in them.

Do you have a product that you will not substitute a cheaper alternative on regardless?

You've gone on so much about Heinz beans, I looked them up on Amazon. Trying to get up the nerve to order. How do I explain $1.80+/can to Hubs? Are they really that good? ~Liz

Sounds like a great book. I go between Campbell's and Bushes Baked Beans.

Stephanie is one of my favorite authors. I've not missed one of her books.

Heinz baked beans are so stinking expensive now. I remember when we use to get them 5 for $1.00. Now one can is a $1.00 or more. Just for beans!!!

Liz, no they aren't worth $1.80 a can even though they are good.

Yes lots! I can't live without HP sauce, Branston pickle, tomato ketchup, Heinz baked beans, Birds custard powder, Bisto gravy, Oxo cubes. That'll do, that'll do!
I noticed in Sainsburys last week that they have started selling packets of milk like you have only they'd run out of the jugs. Since I don't know what the jugs look like, I'll wait till they get some more in.
Also they are selling Heinz baked beans in a special fridge jar so you only take out as many as you need and then return the rest to the fridge shelf.
Good idea I thought.
Thank you for the book review.

I have been married to my husband 35 years, and I hate to think how much Heinz catchup we have used...I think one could float a battleship in it. If we go in a restaurant and it has Heinz catchup, we say it is a classy restaurant.

Beans in our family are Clarks and only Clarks.

Never understood why until my mom told me that my great-grandfather had worked for Clarks for many a year.

Hubby has to have Heinz ketchup too. I asm very picky about bathroom tissue, no particular brand, but must be 3 ply! My sister only buys 1 ply - seriously!- I tell her, you will just use more so you really aren't saving are you?

We used to always eat Heinz beans but moved onto Sainsbury's lower salt and organic beans. I liked the taste and the price better too!

Have always eaten Cadbury's and Thorntons chocolate but have to admit Aldi now do a really great line in chocolate and the prices are great too.

Maybe the cost will tempt us away from our favourites and we'll find that they're not always the best. Only in our memories!

how very curious re the beans. Heinz beans in Canada are very different in taste to Heinz in the UK,more sugar probably. Here we buy Clarke's or No Name as best value and flavour.
