If you use Bloggger please read........

For those of you who use blogger and have the word verification turned on please read on.  When I go to comment on your blog and a box pops up to ask what account I want to use, in my case Google as I use Blogger, it will send me to another screen and ask me to pop in my email address and password, which is fine as it is the Google screen.  It then sends me back to your comment page and I have to put in the word in the word verification box, which I do.  Instead of publishing the comment, it then scoots me back to the Google page again, wanting me to put in my email address and password.  Which I do and again sends me back to the comment page and it wanting me to put in the word again.  And on and on it goes.

So of course I give up and basically I don't comment on your blog, even though I have read it.  Landcuckoo you are one of them, so are you Angela, I tried leaving comment on your blogs this morning and couldn't because of this.

I don't have word verification switched on, on my blog, but I DO MODERATE all comments.  Blogger is pretty good now at sorting out the spam from the good comments and even puts them in a separate box for you.  If you want to moderate comments got to the comments section of the dashboard, and there is a box which you can tick there.  There is also a box there to turn off the word verification also.

Now it may just be me that is having a problem with this, I don't know?  However I just want to let you know I am reading your blog, but I just don't leave a comment, though I may have to start doing it through the anonymous account?

Gill, I know of people in Canada (you and me), UK and France who are having this problem. If you comment as anonymous it works.

Hello Gill
I've found that on several blogs recently - used the name/url thing instead. Try that and see how you go

I changed to moderating my comments because I was getting a lot of Asian sites visiting and they had nude ladies on them! Now that I moderate, they don't bother commenting.

Yesterday there was a bug in Blogger as several people were having problems. I think I signed in about ten times when working on my own blog and gave up trying to leave a comment on more than a few blogs.
It is annoying when some Blogger blogs require you to jump through hoops to comment. Like you, I often click away.

Hi Gill - this problem seems to be universal today - just spoken on the phone with a friend in France who is struggling.Bob said he has picked up half a dozen posts from friends today who are in this muddle too. It seems I am ok posting comments on blogs EXCEPT my own, which is bizarre. i have really struggled to respond to other people's kind comments on my posts! Like Cathy I am using the name/URL thing.

No doubt they will sort out. It doesnt seem quite as bad as the fiasco last week!!

Gill, that's exactly what's happening to me. Thank goodness I'm not suffering alone. Blogger says it is a 'known issue' .....

Another thing that's happening is that some bloggers can't access other blogs, they're told the blogs don't exist! Mine doesn't apparently although you and others managed to get on. I think this is all tied in with the comment box issue.

I'm proper fed-up!

Lots of people having the same problem. I agree about google and spam. I don't have word verification on mine and I like when others don't. Hugs

Gill, blogger is having problems right now with their comment boxes. I've tried several places to leave comments, given it several tries but no joy. Hopefully they will get it sorted out soon.

Forgot to answer your question, and this is moreorless the answer I gave to another blogging friend. My daughter-in-law's degree was in visual and performing arts. She has a beautiful voice and sings opera and would like to perform, but knowing how strongly competitive that world is, she says she is probably going into teaching. She is wonderful around small children and already teaches a small three-day private class to a small group of children, as well as giving piano lessons the rest of the week. On top of that she sings in her church and another, and at weddings and funerals. So is a very, very busy young lady.

Apparently there is a known issue with this problem at the moment. I think I may be one of those you mention. I'll go check.

Caroline advised me to go to Internet Explorer, click on safety, then delete browsing history. It worked for her and now I'm trying this out as a test.

Hey Gill!! I danced around that problem on a few blogs yesterday too--I ended up being able to leave comments anonymously, and just put my name at the end of the comment...It worked, but don't ask me how many times I did that before I figured it out...

I hope you're doing well!!

IGNORE THE SECOND "WORD VERIFICATION" REQUEST - its an artefact of google/bloggers system - your original (verified) comment shou;d appear in the comments section of the blog you are posting on - eventually! :)
