So here goes:
- It makes picking up Molly's poop a whole lot easier, as it's frozen........seriously this was my number one reason why I may like the snow.
- Christmas isn't Christmas without a bit of snow on the ground.
- If we get enough dh won't have to go to work...........though knowing dh he will still try and get to work..........there is a whole other rant I could go on here, but won't.
- When sitting in front of the fire and watching the snow flutter down it is pretty.....I guess....
- Canada wouldn't be Canada without a bucket load of snow, and I love living in Canada, so I need to suck it up and get on with it!! AND STOP WHINING ON ABOUT IT!!
This is a classic Christmas carol:
Thursday's cookie is called Polvorones or Walnut Meltaways, they are a Mexican Wedding cookie. I don't remember having these before, but they do sound familiar. They are a maybe for me to make, how about you?

I'd forgotten about the times I had to clear dog poop and the surrounding yellow snow. I agree with you on all points, especialy sitting by the fire watching snow fall.
Yes, valid points. Most interesting to me was the one about dh going to work. Jim (over here) will always try and get to work whatever the weather. Sometimes I think that is just plain daft!!! Do they really appreciate it? No is the answer, they do not.
I once struggled into work last year in the snow, only to find the place was shut because of the snow. They hadn't told me so I had a wasted trip. Not only that, but when I tried to get a bus home, the buses had been cancelled. I had to walk all the way home and it took me an hour in a blizzard, freezing cold and walking against the wind. Never again.
EEEEven worse was when the next day I tried again and asked the bus driver for a refund on the ticket I couldn't use the day before, he refused. I was so angry, I nearly hit him.
Once in Royal David's City is THE Christmas hymn/carol for me. It starts Christmas. It finds me in the kitchen, making mince pies and sausage rolls and thinking about all my friends and family all over the world.
Blessings, Star
We also share reason #1 for liking the snow and the cold--Although as you know it hasn't come yet to Virginia, but when it does, lets compare lists Gill! :-)
You could always come and live in Australia, NO snow here at CHRISTmas time.
I have never seen snow by the way...

I agree, snow isn't really very nice, but it looks pretty on a sunny day, and I love wearing the warm winter boots and coats and scarves and hats....
Gill! You know how I feel about Christmas music....I LOVED this!
I was in the school choir and we used to sing descant to this at carol concerts.

I don't have a dog but see the point about the dog poop. Sounds better. I am fed up with the snow here- it is thawing at the moment but apparently is coming back next week. Sigh
Shhh Gill, you are getting dangerously close to letting out the secret. That global warming is a Canadian plot to finally get some nice year-round weather.
Please be more careful in the future...lol.
Canada isn't all about the snow - some of us mostly have rain!
I know what you mean about getting to work in the snow. I think staying home is sensible when it takes four times as long to get to work in the snow as when there is none. Of course, he got a commendation for showing up, but I'd still rather have him at home. It would still be there tomorrow when the ice has been cleared from the roadways. Hmmph. You know??? ~Liz
Well the other thing is if we have snow we don't have -33C weather which will be coming your way in a few days. It's dang cold here. Hugs
Okey Dokey, Gill. Thanks for the heads up on tomorrow's music. I will just read and not listen!!

Gill...mind giving me a brief update? I watch Cor. St.oh, maybe once a year or so, loosely trying to follow along...but I can't figure out the whole live Christmas episode, with people dying in it...what's going on? Can you fill me in....I read an article in the Daily Mail and couldn't make heads or tails of it...
so, now I curiouser and curiouser... :-)
thanks
Niki
well said that woman!
Great idea doing the pro's and con's of snow. You've now got down to the pro's :) I love snow when it first arrives, even like to go a walk with the snow coming down, just a short one and come back to a cup of hot chocolate. Then of course I don't live way up your way where you always get a bucket load, don't have to wear snow shoes. Though I think we came pretty close to it last year ;)
I like snow..just not the bitter cold weather that comes with it lots of times.
BTW, I do not know if it is something with my computer or what, but your link to the cookie recipe does not work for me.
Yup, all we can do is suck it up. It will not be very nice out for my concert with my choir on Sunday, but that's the risk of having a Christmas concert, it may get stormed on...Hopefully everyone who has already bought a ticket will come even if it is snowing like crazy!
I love the Carols from Kings ceremony, I actually have it on DVD, but not from the year the clip you shared with us is from. The opening solo is one of my favorite parts :o)
A change in attitude is the best way to be! No matter where you are they could always be something to whine about. I could complain about Christmas being in 40 degree heat and not having a 'traditional winter' Christmas. But the warmer weather means we can celebrate outside, swim in the pool, go to the beach and spend our holiday time outside. Every cloud has a silver lining!
You crack me up!! And I can so relate. Snow (winter period) is not my favorite thing either! Don't forget, it makes a pretty picture AND you appreciate spring and summer a whole lot more!
