Another Christmas song, that is a classic, John Lennon's "Happy Christmas (War Is Over.)
Saturday's cookie looks super simple: Claire Robinson's "Turtle Graham Bars." Now I don't eat dark chocolate (gives me migraines) so I would have to change it too milk chocolate, but I reckon it would still taste as good.
Talking about chocolate, a couple of funny stories. Dd called and she was saying she had been out and got me my last small gift for Christmas, but something had happened and it was only half the size it was???? It turned out to be a Terry Chocolate Orange, but the milk chocolate and mint version. Both me and dd adore mint and chocolate. So she was very excited to have found this. However she was a bit concerned I may not like it, so she thought she should try a piece to make sure it was alright. Then she decided to try and bit more, and a bit more, until there was only half of it left. She thought of just wrapping up the half, but then decided she would just have to eat the rest of it and get me another one!!!
Now many years ago my brother bought my mother a box of Maltesers. He too decided he should try them just to make sure they were alright. On Christmas morning my mother got a half empty box of Maltesers for Christmas, as he didn't have the money to go out and buy another box!!! Uncle and niece are so very much alike............and they get on like a house on fire.......

I'm so sorry dark chocolate gives you migraines. That's awful. A reaction to celery or turnips would be one thing, but not CHOCOLATE! Mint and milk chocolate are good, though. Take what you can get . . . . . if DD comes through with all of the next one. There's still a stretch of time between now and Christmas. ~Liz
See what you've started. Now I must go get a mint. I'll call it dessert as I've already eaten an extra helping of stew tonight.
You have reminded me about a funny story with Maltesers. Aged about eleven I spent a couple of days with a schoolfriend on her farm just outside Hereford. We cycled into the town and bought a big box of Maltesers each. Half way home we flung our bikes under a hedge and sat in a field. We had a competition as to who could cram the most Maltesers into our mouths at once. Well. . . . . . what a mess! Our cheeks bulged with melting chocolate as we forced the maltesers in one by one. Both of us drooled chocolate until we had to give up through laughter and fear of choking!
I wonder if men get as much fun out of the approach to christmas as the ladies certainly do.
Yes, you are tempting us all with those recipes. I can't do dark chocolate either. Apparently it does give some migraines. I find it bothers my stomach as well. Oh well, there's lots of other stuff out there to indulge in. We still have rain here but too much and it's now calling for a little snow. Heard it's coming your way!
That is funny!!! And must admit sounds like something I would do.
