Our son and his moustache.....

As I mentioned in an earlier post, ds is growing a moustache in the month of November to raise funds for Prostate Cancer.  So last Saturday was the first time I had seen him since he started this.  I was pleased to see he had a full moustache, bit confused though, as he has brown hair and his moustache is red/ginger in colour?

I always assumed if you grew a moustache it was the same colour as the hair on your head, but I guess not?  His hair colour comes from his dad's side of the family, but his moustache colour comes from my dad's side of the family.  So there you go another new thing I have learned.

I also am not a fan of facial hair on a man.  Dh is clean shaven and I hope after this month, ds will go back to being clean shaven.

On Monday Molly needed to be let out at 4:14 AM, and for some reason I couldn't get back to sleep, so by 5:30 am I gave up and got up.  I don't do well when I get up at that time of the morning.  Anyhow, I got a jump on all the jobs I had planned for Monday, and got everything I wanted done, done.

My car is now able to be parked in the garage now for the winter since I cleaned it out AGAIN!!!  I put up the Christmas lights around our back deck.  When we were coming home the other night we were amazed at how many people have their Christmas lights up outside and turned on.  I had thought about putting some lights up outside the front of the house this year, as dh has put in an outside plug out front.  It was nippy cold though on Monday so I was frozen by the time I had done the lights on the back.

It was nice enough on Monday to get the laundry dry outside.  Have to say I think the days are numbered for that happening, as it does feel like November now here.

I understand your frustration at the early wake up time! Charlie is waking every morning at 4am on the dot, but we can't figure out why? I'm up with him for about 45mins then he'll sleep till 6.30 usually. But I can live with that, as before he was up at 5am every day and wouldn't go back to sleep at all! Ah life with a toddler (or dog) can be tiring!

It is strange isn't it that facial hair can come a different colour to the head. My step son popped in yesterday and it looked as though he is growing a moustache. I didn't remark on it though and now reading your post it could be because he is supporting the same cause as your son. I shall have to ask. You are getting on with your jobs aren't you, in spite of the cold. Keep warm Gill! A X

You have been a busy lady. Will you be showing pictures of your Christmas lights? I've stopped putting lights up now the arms have stiffened up and hubs has never volunteered to do the job. I make up by putting lots of Christmas ornaments on display.

Well done to your son, my hubby is also sporting some unusual facial hair for the Movember prostate cancer cause. He and a good group of guys from work are all doing it this year.
I had a lovely lie in this morning with no cat jumping on me at 5am, discovered why though - I'd shut her in the lounge overnight by accident!!
Take care

Sheesh Gil, you always makwe me feel like such a slouch (well I am :)) because of all the things you accomplish each day. I haven't even started to think about Christmas. Are you for hire? What is your hourly rate? :) I bet you could make a decent amount from all us slouches :)

Les moustaches suit some people and not others. Bit prickly when they're growing but lovely once they're grown! I'm a fan when they grow properly.
Good for your son to do this for the prostate charity. They were talking about it tonight on the newsy programme at 6.30 pm.
Christmas lights in November? Whatever next!
Blessings, Star

I've seen men with brown hair and red beards before. I wake up regularly at 4.30 p.m. Don't quite get it but it's been that way for a while now. This morning it helped because I cleared all framed photos off mantels and tables, and pictures off walls in preparation for the painting guys who arrived this morning.

Sending some cold weather your way. Winter has now arrived. If Ginger needed up at 4 a.m., it would be dh getting up, not me lol. Hugs

I was awake us of about 5:30 on Monday morning as well, but I stayed in bed and kind of dozed so I held out all right until the end of the day. Last night I was out like a light though, that's for sure!

It's the weirdest thing.. I recently noticed when my husband hasn't shaven in a few days his stubble is also red and Ginger coloured..not every single hair but a lot... But the weird thing is that he's pure Chinese! Really interesting :)
