Wish me luck and another project........

I am heading to the dentist this afternoon for my 6 month cleaning.  I can see it is going to be an interesting visit, as I have toothache all the time on my right hand side where I had the root canal.  Needless to say I am not a happy camper......

I have been busy with this cross stitch card that I got free in a cross stitch magazine.  I have no idea who this card is for but I do know it's not for dd!!  I have started one for her and will show you it next month.

Should say although the cross stitch is finished I still have to adhere it to the card stock.  It is from The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady.

The weather was really strange on Monday.  It was warm enough to be outside with a t-shirt on, as there was no need for a sweater or jacket.  I even barbecued at supper, yes that was why there was smoke in the air!!!  I even got into the garden and pulled up the canna lily bulbs  I also picked the last tomato of the season and enjoyed it on our burgers.

I also meant to say the material I got from the show on the weekend, was from Red Rooster Fabrics and is called Neutral Territory

Barbecue? Out in teeshirts? I wish. The weather here is freezing. We are all wondering if this is the advent to a freezing cold long winter. I envy you X

Do hope you get on OK at the dentist Gill. I remember the first time I had root canal work I had pain for about6 months or so afterwards. My dentist did warn me that it may take a while to settle down. Good luck anyway.

The card is lovely, The Country Diary flowers are so beautiful.

Oh, I love canna lilies! . . . . . Supposed to get down to 33F tomorrow night, so that'll be the last of the tomatoes.

Good luck at the dentist! May I share my tooth story with y ou? I also had a root canal done once which hurt for a whole year afterwards. I was not even able to chew on that side. The dentist who had performed the root canal just told me that there was nothing he could do and I should just "wait it out"!!!!!!! Wrong answer! During that year, and unbeknownst to me, an infection set in and boneloss of the jaw occured. Luckily, I then found an Endodontist, who first redid the root canal and then finally performed another procedure where the tip of the root gets removed. This allows everything to heal from below and, if you are lucky, you get to keep your tooth. Don't let a regular dentist tell you that it's time to pull the tooth out! Hold on to every single tooth as long as you can. The procedure performed by the Endodontist was no big deal and took less time than the root canal itself. I just wanted to tell you about this procedure because I had never heard of it before I FINALLY went to this WONDERFUL endoditist. Once again, good luck!

It's warm like that here today too, but very foggy! Very odd weather indeed!

I hope the dentist wasn't too horrible...out of all the specialists we have to see I hate the dentist the most!

Sunny but chilly,I think, would be the best description for the weather we are having currently.

Gill,
Hope the dentist visit goes ok!
Thanks for reminding me about the Canna Lily bulbs.
I really like the fabric you purchased for the quilts.

Love that poppy cross stitch.

Just read your latest post about your tooth problem. Hope the antibiotics settle it down and you don't need any more work done on it. They're a real pain if you pardon the pun.

Boy do our weeks sound the same! have a toothache, but know that my molar is cracked, and although they say they COULD possibly try a root canal, it probably not a good idea as my tooth has several cracks in it. sigh probably be pulled. The weather has been unseasonably warm (hey, I'm not complaining!) and picked the last peppers, pumpkins and tomatoes. My favorite fabric is usually Red Rooster! And I've been working on a a new to me thing--hand applique. I have some burger thawed, I am hoping to bbq tomorrow. Nothing beats something off the grill. Well, unless its off SOMEONE ELSE'S grill!

Oh, last winter I forced some daffodil(??--I think they were daffodils) and then I set the plants outside on the deck all summer. They died off. Now this fall there are MULTIPLE shoots in the pots. I brought them inside so they wouldn't frost--what should I do with them? Fertilize them? I hate to throw them out, poor things are really kicking it!

And the other bright note, my holiday cactus (who is just almost always on holiday and doesn't bloom!) must have liked sitting outside on the patio table. Its about the size of a wash tub, and covered with buds! Two different color buds. I know there are 4 different colors in that pot, and they all seem to bloom at different times. Now the deep red magenta and the white with pink streaks are getting ready to bloom. Camera is charged and ready!
