Favourite Movies, and something else

I have never been to a movie theatre in years, infact I have never watched a movie in a movie theatre in Canada. The thought of paying goodness knows what to sit with a crowd of people in a dark room doesn't excite me. So I generally wait until the movie comes out on video........no that's not right....dvd.

Here are a list of some of my all time favourite movies. They generally have a British background too them!!!

Grease Now this is one movie I have seen numerous times at the movie theatre. I was 14 years of age when this first came out. Oh how we all wanted to be Sandy. 30 years later I still love this movie.

Dirty Dancing What isn't there to love about this movie? The music is fantastic, Patrick Swayze, what's not to love about him? Its a classic movie.

The Full Monty I will admit that I laugh so hard, that I nearly pee my pants with this movie. I really can't explain why I find it so funny but I do.

Moonstruck Nicholas Cage, he's just gorgeous.........nothing else to say!!!

March of the Penguins This is such a wonderful movie, the things those animals go through for their young offspring.

Shirley Valentine An oldie but a goodie. Typical British humour and they serve up dh's favourite meal, fried eggs and chips on the movie.

Bend It Like Beckham This was such a good movie, and not what we expected when we first saw it. We have seen it numerous times since. What would have even been better would have been a few scenes of David Beckham running around the soccer pitch with no top on............a girl can dream can't she...LOL

That's just a couple of my favourites, what are yours?

Oh and if you have a moment try this:

Nicholas Cage? Gorgeous? Never thought I'd see those three words in the same sentence ;)

Favourite film... oooo, I don't really have one. Love old films though - black and white, handsome actors, nice dresses, you know the kind of thing.

Oh I agree with lots of your movie choices. I'd forgotten all about Moonstruck, I had a "thing" for Nicolas Cage too but no one else could see why! Glad I was not alone!
I also love Sci-Fi and fantasy stuff - I love the Lord of the Rings films and Starwars.
But I now have to add Mamma Mia to my ALL TIMES FAVS!!!

My all time favorite British movie is Shirley Valentine and also Educating Rita as I am a big Michael Cane fan, have been since I saw him in Zulu, which is another favorite. Like Ginnie I enjoy Sci-Fi and Fantasy; Lord of the Rings and Starwars were also great favorites.

Thank you for visiting my blog...oh my gosh...Shirley Valentine? I remember that movie, I was quite young when I saw it, but do remember it very well. I loved that movie...the other one on your list I love is Moonstruck. I think Cher was amazing in it!

Hello again. One of my current favourite movies is the Engagement Ring. If you are acquainted with any Italian families you will appreciate the subtle humour. Otherwise I am not much of a screen watcher. Thanks for the comment on Eggy our cockatiel. She is happy now!! I think these birds live for about 15 years but we have only had ours for one. I would never have believed that birds could show so much affection but she certainly does although she is very agressive towards hands as the indicate a need to return to her cage. Thanks for the comments. Cherrie

I love Grease as well. If you haven't seen "Garden State' I highly recommend that one. Cute love story. I like the Notebook also.

I've got a completely different list! ha. Have you seen Amazing Grace? It's such a good movie. And One Night With the King is great, too. Those are two of my favorites. Awesome movies.

Ooooh, and The Ultimate Gift. It's sad how few people have heard of that one, but you should check that one out. It's SO good.
