Bit of this and a bit of that........

John over at Tok Tok Place had a neat quiz about what sort of blogger are you. here are my results:

You Are a Life Blogger!

Your blog is the story of your life - a living diary.
If it happens, you blog it. And you make it as entertaining as possible.
You may be guilty of over-sharing a bit on your blog, but you can't help it.
Your life is truly an open book. Or in this case, an open blog!

Got an email from Kraft in my inbox, and had a peek.  Saw this neat section regarding 5 dinner's in one bag: http://www.kraftcanada.com/en/recipes/dinner/1bag5dinners/main.aspx?cm_mmc=eml-_-mtdce-_-2011-_-4005 thought there were some neat recipes there.

On Thursday while in town I popped into Zehrs and picked up some reduced meat and bread. I got three loaves of bread, 20 dinner rolls, a garlic bread baguette, four packages of English Bangers and two packages of lean ground beef; it came to $26 and change.

With one package of sausage I made my Sausage Risotto which we love.

The recipe is from this book.

The ground beef, I browned in a pan with some chopped up onions, drain and then freeze in portions in the freezer.

I have seen other people do this, but never done it myself.  Figured it would save a step when pulling the ground beef out of the freezer.

This week's column and other "stuff"

This week's column is here This week it's school time memories, I hope you have a couple of minutes to have a quick read, and as always if you have time leave a comment, or better still, forward it onto your friends to read.  I appreciate that you take the time to read my column, and say a big thank you to each and every one of you for doing that.

If you have a couple more minutes to spare and want to figure out where your ideal vacation destination would be click on this link and take the quiz.  As per my answers, I am a Beach Bum.........sitting on the beach is not my idea of a holiday, although the suggestion to go to Costa Rica would be a place I would go, as I have heard it is lovely.

Made another Dump Cake, this time with peaches and raspberries, really good, though sweet....

Tuesday was one of those days when I was busy all day but didn't seem to achieve anything.

I am going to have some good news to share with you in the next few days so stay tuned!!!

I forgot to do this.........sorry Clippy Mat

Back on the 17th of January I popped by Clippy Mat's blog and on this post and she had this quiz thingy, not sure what to call it. Here are the rules:

1. Leave a comment on this blog and I will assign you a letter.
2. Write about ten things you love that begin with said letter.
3. Post the list on your blog.
4. When people comment on your list, you assign them a letter, and the game continues.

So I of course commented and dear Clippy, assigned me the letter "W" I say Dear Clippy in a sarcastic tone, as DEAR Clippy what the heck you may as well have given me "X"............LOL

Anyhow, after many hours of racking my brain to figure out ten things I like beginning with the letter "W" here is my list:

1. Water, well filtered water, I wouldn't in this day and age drink tap water, especially where we live. We were told when we had a fish tank to never change the tank water on a Wednesday, as they pump that much chlorine in the water that day that it would harm the fish..........need I say more why I won't drink the tap water.

2. Wednesday, I liked it more when I worked as you were half way through the work week, now as I don't work it's not as important I suppose.

3. Wireless Mouse, so convenient.

4. Wooden stairs, I love my oak staircase, it was one of the things I paid extra to have when we moved into the house. Must polish them weekly as dusty oak staircases look tacky.

5. Windows, we have nice large windows in our house and I really love them as they let in so much light.

6. Wholewheat Bread, tastes so much better than plain old white bread, though if you're having a chip (fries) sandwich, it does taste better in white bread, all the British are shouting yes at this point. We British will put anything between two slices of buttered bread, and anything between two pie crusts!!

7. Walking, well only when its not too hot, not too cold, not raining, not snowing and not too windy........did I mention I am allergic to exercise!!!

8. Weather, well as I am British I have to be obsessed with the weather, its in our genes. Will say though I am never happy with the weather. Its not helped by the fact I live in a country that has six months of winter, followed by a week or two of Spring (if we're lucky), which then plunges into heat and humidity from hell, followed by a month (again if we are lucky) of Fall.........

9. Wildlife, quite like wildlife, as long as its not digging up my garden, then its annoying.

10. Wind, actually I only like the wind when I am hanging out the washing to dry, as it dry a lot faster. I also like to look at the sky on a windy day, to see the clouds zoom by.

What a lame set of things don't you think???? Anyhow, if you want to play along let me know and I'll assign you a letter.......no pressure or anything though!!!

Favourite Movies, and something else

I have never been to a movie theatre in years, infact I have never watched a movie in a movie theatre in Canada. The thought of paying goodness knows what to sit with a crowd of people in a dark room doesn't excite me. So I generally wait until the movie comes out on video........no that's not right....dvd.

Here are a list of some of my all time favourite movies. They generally have a British background too them!!!

Grease Now this is one movie I have seen numerous times at the movie theatre. I was 14 years of age when this first came out. Oh how we all wanted to be Sandy. 30 years later I still love this movie.

Dirty Dancing What isn't there to love about this movie? The music is fantastic, Patrick Swayze, what's not to love about him? Its a classic movie.

The Full Monty I will admit that I laugh so hard, that I nearly pee my pants with this movie. I really can't explain why I find it so funny but I do.

Moonstruck Nicholas Cage, he's just gorgeous.........nothing else to say!!!

March of the Penguins This is such a wonderful movie, the things those animals go through for their young offspring.

Shirley Valentine An oldie but a goodie. Typical British humour and they serve up dh's favourite meal, fried eggs and chips on the movie.

Bend It Like Beckham This was such a good movie, and not what we expected when we first saw it. We have seen it numerous times since. What would have even been better would have been a few scenes of David Beckham running around the soccer pitch with no top on............a girl can dream can't she...LOL

That's just a couple of my favourites, what are yours?

Oh and if you have a moment try this:

I am a
Canna

What Flower
Are You?

Peaches........

Over the weekend a dear friend dropped off some Ontario Peaches for me.  She got them from the Niagara region.  She goes down there from Bra...
