Learned something new this weekend, handy tip.....

We went and bought a new dining room set and had it delivered last week.  The only problem we had was we had to sell our old set:

So I put it on various online selling sites as a set.  Nothing, no interest at all other than someone asked if the chairs were available separately?  I had never thought of selling the chairs separately from the table.

So I ended up listing the 6 pine chairs, the two end chairs and the table separately and ended up making $100 more than if I had sold them as a set.  Who knew?  It turns out chairs on their own are harder to find..........

Here is our new set, totally different from the old set and it fits better in the area:

Love the frosted glass top and the chairs are actually comfortable!!

Random Thoughts and Things

As I mentioned last week, I will be doing a weekly post about bits and bobs of things I have seen or done during the prior week.

Saw this website mentioned some where else and thought it had some lovely items on it if you cross stitch: The Nutmeg Company  I love the little Sweet Gingerbread Houses:

So pretty.

Found this very interesting to watch; I guess many years ago this was a normal thing to do?

Then eight months later here she is taking the eggs out of the solution:

Started to watch Fargo on Netflix, liking it so far; got through season one, started on season two.
Just found these video's:

Need your help and a couple of neat videos.....

Need your help dd is wanting custom designed cocktail napkins for the wedding.  So far though she is running into problems, as companies in the States either want an American credit card or charge an arm and a leg in shipping.  Does anyone know of a company that makes cocktail napkins in Canada that can have a custom design put on them and not cost $100 for 200 of them............OR is there a company in the States that won't charge $50 in shipping (no kidding there) or will accept a Canadian credit card OR is there a reasonably priced company in Britain where we can order from.  In the Britain situation we will get them delivered to my mothers and she will bring them over with her in November.

First let me thank Valerie for bringing this to my attention as prior to seeing it on her blog I had never even heard of this song by Paul McCartney.

I was also sent the photos from this you tube video, it's so different.

Had a bit of a relapse in my recovery on Tuesday.  I felt as though someone had sucked all the energy out of me, so needless to say didn't get much done through the day.  I guess there is always tomorrow.

Oh and finally, check out this online store: Deckchair Stripes, such a lot of fun things on there.

What a great video this is.......

it's takes great skill and talent to do what he was doing, plus a good suspension on that bike!!!

I am sure I could do that, if I were younger, fitter and 100lbs lighter!! Pleased to see him wearing a bike helmet as well.

Judy, could you leave your email in a comment for me, so I can get back to you with the Swagbucks tips.  Had another good Swagbucks day with over 100 Swagbucks again, thanks to those of you who have signed up under me.

Found this clothes site that I love, some lovely things on there, including a couple of lovely dresses I could wear for the wedding.  I love this dress......just HATE the price!!  I like this one as well and the price is a bit more realistic!!

Well on Wednesday I broke my no spend day challenge and wrote a cheque to pay for the Internet for the next three months.  Mind you that is a necessity as me minus the Internet would be a tragedy as far as I am concerned!!!

Recipe and other stuff........

I made a new to me recipe today, infact I sort of made it up myself.

Strawberry and Mango Crisp.

Ingredients:

1lb strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 or 2 mangoes, peeled and chopped
4 tbsp flour
4 tbsp sugar

Topping:

1/2 cup flour (all purpose/plain)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup marg
1 cup rolled oats

Method:

Toss the fruit in the 4 tbsp of flour and sugar and pop in dish.

For the topping, mix the flour, sugar and rolled oats together, rub in the marg until mixed in.  Place on top of the fruit.

Bake in a 375 oF oven for 40 minutes, until topping is golden brown.  Serve with icecream or cream.  It's good!!!!

Now you know I am not one for bad language, but when I saw this over at Tracey's I knew right away I could relate to this:

I saw this dress on the online store at Roots and thought it was nice........not big enough sizing though for me.

I have started inputting recipes for the church cookbook, and I can see me trying a few!!  So no doubt you will be benefiting from this!!!

Did you remember to put your money in your Daily Savings Pot today?  We are nearly at the end of month three!!!!

Today's Money Saving Tip:

Let your laundry dry outside. If you have the ability to hang up laundry outside, let the sun and warm summer breeze do the drying for you. Even if you can’t hang up clothes outside, try using your dryer on a lower heat setting or only partially drying your shirts and letting them air dry the rest of the way.

Finally I am back............

Was away longer than I intended but, have enjoyed the break.  It has been a busy couple of months, and It's hard to believe it's bee...
