Another Before and After

These are not the best photos, but the first two photos are of our lighting fixture that hangs over the stairs going down to the basement at the front of the house.  It was too big for the area.  So we decided to change it up

Plus the fabric shade was looking dirty,

The light fixture I chose looks a lot more airier and not heavy.  I purchased it from Wayfair Canada, you can see a clearer picture here.

It doesn't look so bulky and blends in more.
This light fixture is on the side of the living room.

There would normally be a hallway where this light is located, but the prior owners did away with the wall.  This light fixture is also from Wayfair Canada and you can see a better picture here.
I haven't bought much from Wayfair Canada, but so far so good.  How about you, do you like shopping at Wayfair?

New Light Fixture.....

Picked up a new light fixture for the breakfast nook on Saturday and dh hung it on Sunday.  I wanted a fan in there as it gets rather warm in that area, despite being open plan.  We got this fan at Home Depot and it is a LED light, so energy efficient.  Mind you I bought it for the fan rather than the light!!  The chrome matches the fixture in the kitchen itself, which I like and have no plans to remove.

As it was from Home Depot it didn't cost us the kids inheritance to buy!!  I also wanted one with a remote control so there are no strings hanging down.  I like the clean look.

I bought some herb plants on Saturday and wanted something to put them in.  I found this Victoria and Albert herb planter at HomeSense.  It features a William Morris print.  I have five herb plants to plant though and I could only find one of these.  Too pretty though to pass up.

Dining Room Light Fixture.

We got the dining room fixture back in December of 2014, hence all the Christmas touches.  Again it is a Currey and Company fixture called Sethos Rectangular Chandelier.

.

Again it is both a work of art and a light fixture.
In the living we put two sconces that match the Sethos Chandelier, again click on this link to see a better picture.
It was the glass that attracted me to all these pieces.
And finally, yes we need a larger tv for the top of the fireplace.  Dh and children are constantly reminding me of this.  Me personally, I couldn't care one way or another!!!

If you're in Ontario you may have seen this ad on tv.........

I think that is such a funny advert, don't you?

I seem to have good expensive taste.  I really, really like this light fixture:
I need three though for my front hall, they are from here.  The price over $500 each.  Not sure what I will do about it.  I will have to think on this for a while.

Did my grocery shopping on Friday and ended up spending $91.10 with savings/coupons of $8.50.  I have updated my grocery total in the left hand column.   My best deal of the week is this packet of Bombay Mix.
I bought twelve packages in total and paid 25 cents per package and that included taxes.  What a deal.  Dh likes them and they have an expiry date in 2016; I doubt they will last that long though.

Knitting update:  Got around 9 rows knitted and discovered I had picked up an extra stitch.  So pulled a couple of rows out and then got totally confused.  So pulled the whole lot out and then cast on again {{SIGH}}  However this is a learning period and the more I do it the more I will learn.  So all is not lost.

Out shopping with DD and Our Little Munchkin.........

Went  to Yorkdale on Wednesday for a few hours of retail therapy.  Always good for the soul I think, don't you?  We had a good look around and I got a couple more Christmas gifts and saw a few things that I loved.

Both dd and our Little Munchkin are sick with a head cold.  Our Little Munchkin has been having three one hour + naps a day for the past week, plus sleeping twelve hours on a night, so she has to be sick.  When I met up with them at around 9:45 am she hadn't had a sleep despite being tired.  She didn't fall asleep until 12:15 pm and then only for half an hour.  She is too bloody nosy for her own good and has never been one to sleep in her stroller.  Regardless though you have to love her and of course she had to have a selfie taken with her Nana:
While I was pushing her in the stroller she kept saying "mama," so I kept saying no not "mama, " it's NANA.  Didn't want to know though!!!!

One store I rather like is Crate and Barrel.  They have the best tea towels ever there and not too badly priced at $6.96 CDN each.  So I bought a couple as Christmas gifts and one for myself:
The brightly coloured one is for dd and the weights and measure one is for me, the middle one is for someone else.  The weights and measure one will make a fantastic stocking stuffer if you're near the store:
I also fell in love with this gorgeous light fixture:
The only problem is it can only take a 60 watt bulb.  I have more light coming off my nose end!!
Did see this one in Pottery Barn, but as dd said it was too big for our dining room:
Finally, just because here is another photo of our Little Munchkin:
How are you all doing with your Christmas Shopping?

Taking a break.......

back in a while.  Nothing wrong...........
