The Thursday Murder Club | Official Trailer | Netflix

We finally watched this the other night and it was so good.  It was one of those movies that wasn't overly "deep."  You didn't have to think a lot, it wasn't scary and all the actors were familiar faces.

If I had to say something negative it would be Pierce Brosnan's accent in the movie was horrible....LOL

I didn't realize it was the first book in a series of books written by Richard Osman  I hope they make movies of the other books in the series.

If you haven't seen the movie, I would say see it.  We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

The cast have said they hope there will be another one (well they would, wouldn't they?!). Agree about PBs accent

I read The first book and didn't really like it but always thought it would make a better film. I'll have to watch it next week when we're back home

I loved this movie too - so nicely cast and delightful. They held closely to the book, even though they had to cut a bit for time, I didn't really miss it. All the books have been optioned by netflix. I suspect whether or not they go into production will depend on reception, reviews (so far, most all are good) and availability of the main cast members.

I watched an interview recently, whereby actor Domhnall Gleeson (currently playing an American in a new series) described his struggle with certain accents, especially Australian. It's definitely a skill, isn't it? I can do a Scottish accent, thanks to my great-grandparents, or southern US (thanks to TV), but others not so much.

I felt the exact way after watching it. It was a plesant movie. But I did not notice Pearce's accent. Maybe because I can't always tell the difference between his Irish accent and a British accent. Damn Yanks. :-)
